Tales of a traveling painter. Drawing when painting usually means value sketches or trying out alternate compositions with thumbnails. Occasionally, I will do a more detailed drawing instead of a painting. This minimal drawing kit fits into a zip-lock bag and easily goes into a pocket of the backpack. Sketchbook 5×7 with acid-free paper and spiral bound hardcover that folds flat to the backside. Graphite pencils in 2B, 4B, 6B, sometimes in sticks. Vine charcoal, medium soft. There were a couple of other lines that I can't recall but which meant "talking too much". I just couldn't keep my mouth shut! That fast I was standing in front of him so he couldn't come in any further, and told him that I had changed the gas to an electric range when I moved in. He backed out the door after a bit of trivial conversation and I thought that was the last of it. I went out and looked at the meter, and it seems ok.
