Just another WordPress.com weblog. I was asked to update the blog by my New Zealand Reader so here goes:. Much of the stuff we brought out with us has been sold on or just given away so the house sounds very hollow and looks quite bare now. We only seem to have DVD’s left to watch and I cant manage to do that all day (it is the school holiday here until Monday). More on our move back later and then I think a new blog on our time in Egypt. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. December 27th...

Just another WordPress.com weblog. This week started with a very busy Sunday. We went to Ruperts for a BBQ lunch and were back in Jamestown for 5pm to wave Sylvia off on the boat. At Ruperts and on the wharf. The table we used for lunch. Boys in a ring. Connie, Sylvia and Coral. The week was full of school stuff and with orchestra and choir cancelled there was plenty of time to do it! One Comment Add your own. March 1, 2009 at 7:34 am. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Garnett's Down Under: April 2014
http://pamgarnett.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Saturday, April 12, 2014. Long time no type. So we are settling in and not doing so much apart from school work. The 12 week term is a bit of a killer! School has started a photography club for the kids so I put a couple of pictures in,. Maddison has taken part in the Shakespeare festival as a director with a scene from Much Ado About Nothing. It took them 1 1/2 hours to complete the judging! So it was a long wait. Posted by Pam Garnett. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Our time on St. Helena.

Friday, October 31, 2014. Busy, busy, busy. We’ve returned the mattresses t0 Ivy and then spent a day in London where we visited Madame Tussauds, the Sherlock Holmes shop and looked at the hour queue for the London Eye before deciding not to! Thursday saw us in Leeds visiting Dad and Friday at Warwick Castle taking pictures after dark. In-between times we sorted the house visited the tip and put together 5 bookcases. Garnett's Down Under: Wales Day 3
http://pamgarnett.blogspot.com/2015/08/wales-day-3.html
Saturday, August 8, 2015. Another busy day today: a slate mine, 2 castles a slate museum and a ride to the top of Snowdon on the train to look at the view of the inside of a cloud - not to be missed. The slate mine tour was really interesting and nicely lit, they even store cheese down there while it matures. I think we'd been here before. We didn't really have time to see everything at this free museum. Posted by Pam Garnett. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Our time on St. Helena.
Garnett's Down Under: October 2013

Monday, October 7, 2013. It takes an hour and a half to drive there so we get Maddy up at 8:30 in order to set off at 9:30am. Geoff had booked tickets the night before for the 11:30am tour and we made it with 30 mins to spare, just time to get a fridge magnet and postcard before being bumped up onto the 11:15 tour! The film set is 12 acres in the middle of a sheep farm of 1300 sheep and 500 Angus cattle (for McDonalds Angus burgers) so there is a 5-10 min bus journey to the start. Ginger Beer - very tasty.
Garnett's Down Under: 5 days in Wales - Day 1
http://pamgarnett.blogspot.com/2015/08/5-days-in-wales-day-1.html
Sunday, August 2, 2015. 5 days in Wales - Day 1. Last Monday (27th) we went to Wales for the week, driving there via: Wroxeter Roman Town, an abbey that was closed, a cantlop bridge (Telford built it), Acton Burnell Castle, Langley Chapel and finally Harlech Castle. The entrance to Harlech Castle was a wind swept gantry which was quite exciting. Our B and B, Bryn Artro, was in Llanbedr 10 minutes down the road from Harlech, and was great. Posted by Pam Garnett. Friday, August 29, 2014. The last major trip out for the holidays was down the M40 to Slough via the M4 and some devious route around the town to bring us to the entrance. The park is aimed at small children but the rides fitted all sizes and the pirate show was excellent. Posted by Pam Garnett. Sunday, August 17, 2014. Initial Sightings in Warwick. Saturday, September 28, 2013. It's the end of our first term and we are on holiday for the next two weeks, hopefully our UK belongings will arrive and we can decorate our house into a home. We are hoping to do some more exploring as well! Today there was a Gypsy Fair in Rotorua, which means carnival rides for the evening and some crafts for the day. Maddison got some wooden carvings and I snapped a few pictures. The clocks are changing tonight so 1 hour less in bed. Posted by Pam Garnett.
Garnett's Down Under: May 2014

Saturday, May 3, 2014. Tuesday 29th April – Thursday 1st May was the Students against Dangerous Driving conference in Napier and Maddison and Isabelle were the representatives for Western Heights High School. Rather than drop them off (2 and a half hours drive there) we decided to stay and partake of the delights of Napier. Posted by Pam Garnett. It took about an hour to wander round and then we popped into the museum. The wooden thingy in Maddison’s hand was a miniature crossbow that fires pencils!

Tuesday, July 23, 2013. Still waiting 22nd June. It is now easier to put the photos on Facebook than upload everything to a Piccasa Album then link it to the blog. There must be a sensible way of sharing the photos across social networks but I haven't found it yet. My Facebook page. Posted by Pam Garnett. Wednesday, July 17, 2013. Then down Oxford Street to meander round the shops, until, exhausted , we bought ice cream and sat in Hyde Park until it was time to go our separate ways and go home. I have fi...
