The world famous Super Brand Mall. It has everything from a movie theater to an ice skating rink. Waiting to board the ferry. That gate goes up and it's a mad dash for a good spot. This is from the ferry taking us across the Huangpu River - this river divides the city into two halves, Pudong (which is where we live) and Puxi.

Today the high school went on a field trip to the General Motors plant in Shanghai. We got a tour of the plant and a brief presentation from a young woman who barely spoke English. Last night I went to the Sonic Youth show at the Shanghai Concert Hall - an excellent show! The inside of the venue reminded me a lot of the Orpheum Theater in Minneapolis, only a bit smaller.
