CNC conversion is a nice machine I wanted a larger machine. I acquired a nice Prazi F1200 mill from a friend in January 2004. He purchased it planning to make it a CNC conversion but before he 'got around to it' Prazi offered a ready to run system. He purchased one and wanted to sell this mill. I have wanted to build a CNC router since I started making model boats kits about 1992 I started reading and tinkering and along the way learned a great deal about CNC I have converted a Sherline. Jet Mill CNC Conversion. Is a fine mill, I found it was a bit to small for the kind of work I want to do. So I started watching for a bigger mill. My shop. Is on the second floor of my house. In fact, the mill is placed almost exactly above my bed, so I really was not sure I wanted a 2000 pound Bridgeport up there. I found a Jet JVM-840 knee mill at Brothers Macinery Exchange. This photo also shows the Y lead screw in place, you can see the aluminum post sticking up that will go into the saddle casting.

The Cruise

Taking the long way home. The boat is in Ottawa, Ontario. My home is in Boothbay Maine. I will be following several canal and waterways on the cruise. Here is a map of the entire route.
