What remains of democracy is chiefly the right to choose between commodities" - Noam Chomsky. South West Communists Website. Thursday, 24 February 2011. From Economic to Political Crisis. There has been much discussion on the left about developing the anti-cuts campaigning beyond “simply” protesting about spending cuts. Firstly we must not deny that the deficit is a problem. Reducing the amount of interest the government pays on its debt is a good thing! The best way to reduce a deficit. Communists from ...

What remains of democracy is chiefly the right to choose between commodities" - Noam Chomsky. South West Communists Website. Sunday, 19 August 2012. Stalin and why much of the left needs to grow up. It seems to me that the various “socialist” parties spend more time talking about Stalin than anyone else. I've never written about Stalin or “Stalinism” before – I've never seen the point. Why would I? And what do they even mean by “Stalinist”? I simply can't work it out. You should try it. Next time...So in...

What remains of democracy is chiefly the right to choose between commodities" - Noam Chomsky. South West Communists Website. Thursday, 21 July 2011. I have a problem. OK, not personally, but I have a problem with the word fascism and calling people fascists. It occurred to me during the anti-EDL march at the start of the month. South Devon Communist: North South Divide?
http://southdevoncommunist.blogspot.com/2012/06/north-south-divide.html
What remains of democracy is chiefly the right to choose between commodities" - Noam Chomsky. South West Communists Website. Sunday, 17 June 2012. Last week I ended up in a discussion with a comrade from "up north" or, if I'm honest, had some truly bizarre views on the "south". His first statement was a massive generalisation, "the Tories only win general elections because people in the south vote for them". Really? I may not be quoting exactly word for word, but you get the idea. Cornwall still receives...
