On Success and Failure | Renewed Mess

https://renewedmess.wordpress.com/2013/09/17/on-success-and-failure

Clear thoughts from an otherwise mess. Dear Pastor-Me…Sincerely, Church Planter-Me. On Success and Failure. September 17, 2013. As we talked I found myself saying something about what makes a successful plant, but I found myself stumbling over that word. Saying it naturally implied the other side of the coin: failed church plants. It felt as though I was suggesting that my friend’s efforts had failed. Nothing could be further from the truth. In 1 Corinthians 3:6-7 Paul wrote,. That is why we must be care...

Dear Pastor-Me…Sincerely, Church Planter-Me | Renewed Mess

https://renewedmess.wordpress.com/2013/05/13/dear-pastor-me-sincerely-church-planter-me

Clear thoughts from an otherwise mess. A Couple of Blogs Worth Your Time. On Success and Failure. Dear Pastor-Me…Sincerely, Church Planter-Me. May 13, 2013. You don’t have to own it. Then a new person in our group came and said I want to have one of these in my house. What do I do? They live there. They are 4 adults sharing a house (not uncommon here in paradise where housing costs keep skyrocketing). It was not my plant, but it seems to be the direction that the Lord is moving. I am the master of the br...

On Resolutions | Renewed Mess

https://renewedmess.wordpress.com/2014/01/01/on-resolutions

Clear thoughts from an otherwise mess. On Success and Failure. January 1, 2014. All that before lunch. January 1 must be the most productive day on the calendar. It is the day when we take on our New Year’s resolutions with gusto. It is the day that we sit back and bask in the radiant thoughts of what life would be like if we just lived everyday like this. Sometime in February, our days tend to resemble those of last year and our resolutions are forgotten. Why make a promise that you won’t keep? Welcome ...

Hoofprints In My Garden: OBL

http://hoofprintsinmygarden.blogspot.com/2011/05/obl.html

Hoofprints In My Garden. Tuesday, May 3, 2011. A rush of relief. As I listened to the news;. Brett stood at the shower door. Raw grief followed relief. A day of tumbling tears -. Into smoke, fire. Would have willingly gone. This poem has been submitted to the Thursday Poet's Rally. And it won an award! From the Promising Poets' Poetry Cafe. And, check out my nomination for the award, JP's Poetry. Sharp and sad. Thanks for sharing. May 4, 2011 at 8:36 AM. A horrible event, it was so sad. Personal yet easy...

The Cheerful Stamp Pad. 8220;Art is literacy of the heart” Elliot Eisner. Saturday, August 15, 2015. 8220;The moon is a loyal companion. It never leaves. It’s always there, watching, steadfast, knowing us in our light and dark moments, changing forever just as we do. Every day it’s a different version of itself. Sometimes weak and wan, sometimes strong and full of light. The moon understands what it means to be human. Uncertain. Alone. Cratered by imperfections.”. Links for this post. Our Lady of Dreams.

January 22, 2013 · 1:43 am. The courtiers have exhausted me. I have no more strength for them. Their endless rules and discipline. Their ways to elevate men. I tire of the jesters’ many styled shows. Their songs and choreographed response. Their chants, their poetry, their simple art. Devoid of all the subtle nuance. The ladies in waiting have much to say. They crave the focus of all daily toil. And make much of every little stage. Their tongues have made much to spoil. The counselors come with many words.

Thursday, 15 November 2012. THERE WAS A COUNTRY. There was a Country. Men from the rising sun. Conferred with those on its setting. To aid them sequester the ties of the uphill men. Nay born out of polygamous motives graced request. Guns are gone but pens still fire in Battle fields filled with ink. A fourth wise man appears from the east bearing a royal laced gift. Friday, January 15, 2010. My father cinched the rope,. A noose around my waist,. And lowered me in to. The darkness. I could taste. My fear. It tasted first. Of dark, then earth, then rot. I swung and struck my head. And at that moment got. Another then: then blood,. Which spiked my mouth with iron. Hand over hand, my father. Dropped me from then to then:. Then water. Then wet fur,. Which I hugged to my chest. I shouted. Daddy hauled. The wet rope. I gagged, and pressed. My neighbor's missing dog. He loo...
