Marathon Bound: Perfect 6 Miles
http://poetrunner.blogspot.com/2007/05/perfect-6-miles.html
Pressure is nothing more than the shadow of great opportunity." - Michael Johnson. Tuesday, May 22, 2007. This week's schedule called for an easy 6 miles yesterday, followed by a 5 mile tempo run Thursday, and a 10 mile long run Sunday. So in the afternoon I climbed out of my work skirt and heels and into my running clothes (shorts! I'm also looking forward to starting to bike, but I'm a bit daunted by the variety and price range - any suggestions would be very much appreciated! May 24, 2007 at 3:37 PM.
Marathon Bound: Recovery Runs
http://poetrunner.blogspot.com/2007/05/recovery-runs.html
Pressure is nothing more than the shadow of great opportunity." - Michael Johnson. Tuesday, May 22, 2007. I've always wondered about the science behind the recovery run. I hate nothing more than plodding through a cold stiff run so short it almost doesn't feel worth the effort to put on running clothes. So I found this article. On Active.com interesting. Combine recovery runs with an interval training regime, and fitness should improve exponentially! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Running in the Sun.

Friday, December 31, 2010. My Most Fascinating People of 2010. My Top Ten Most Fascinating People of 2010. I still have a tear-stained Kleenex in a scrapbook that I cried on while watching Princess Diana’s funeral. I remember sitting in my bedroom making a cassette tape for my friend Darren on his mission, when my sister came in to tell me that the People’s Princess had been in an accident and later died. I come from a line of women grossly intrigued with the royal family and the Kennedys. He is a good-l...
Poetic Truth
Friday, March 28, 2008. Must we be us? Dedicated to all disenfranchised people the world over, and especially to the Hmong people hiding out in the upper mountains of Laos. Why must we be one? Why can't we be two? Why can't we be we? Why can't we be free? Why can't I be me? Why must we be us? What is the great loss? If we are not us? What if I was 'I'? And I had no 'you'? Or you, no 'me'? Would we be free? Must you have me? Should you have me? Do you want me? Or do you want mine? I don't want you. The ch...

Russell Jones
Poet, editor and tutor Russell Jones (Edinburgh, Scotland) russ jones2k@hotmail.com. Where Rockets Burn Through. Thursday, 6 August 2015. What does it mean to be human? I've almost zero idea. However, the good folks of Human Journal have released their fifth issue on Crime, which includes one of my poems: "Heading to the Corner Shop on a Winter's Day.". The poem is based, quite horribly, on a real event. I won't ruin it for you as part of the purpose of the poem is to tell the story. Tuesday, 28 July 2015.
