Cusco Running Club: Guest Note: Deirdre Lockwood - Speaking for Peru's Trees

http://www.cuscorunningclub.com/2014/08/guest-note-deirdre-lockwood-speaking.html

Monday, August 25, 2014. Guest Note: Deirdre Lockwood - Speaking for Peru's Trees. How do you measure the impact of forests on global climate? Trees are, forgive me, one of our biggest hedges against climate change. Deforestation in the Mato Grasso state of Brazil. Pedro Biondi/Abr/Wikimedia Commons. But to be in a position to do this, it’s important to be able to quant...

A Poet's Double Life | For poets working outside the literary world.

News from the Corner Office. A Poet's Double Life. For poets working outside the literary world. April 8, 2018. Spring in Boston is errant piles of melting snow, crocuses and daffodils bravely stretching their heads into the crisp air, and trees with bare limbs looking like legions of ladies in sleeveless tops. Today, I held the third Four Chairs and a Bench. Writing session two poets and two novelists made for a bit of balance around the table. Instead of writing a poem every day, I am posting a poem.

Reflections

Some gems collected from the internet. These poems have touched my heart, and I can identify to most of them very closely. Friday, May 05, 2006. When shades of night begin to fall. And the stars light up the sky,. I travel back in time,. Remembering days gone by. Happy days of childhood. Running free in fields of flowers,. Dens we made to shelter in. To escape the sudden showers. Such different games we played then,. Too many to recall,. But in those golden years. We were happy with bat and ball. I wont ...
