Mark's Musings: April 2015

Life and thought in the rarified air at 8,500 feet. Monday, April 27, 2015. Crazy Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. It spanned several denominations. Bible Church, to charismatic Episcopal (a "unicorn church", but it really exists), to Missionary Baptist, to non-denom charismatic, to mega church to Southern Baptist church. We were trying to do too much all the time with everyone. I, Mark, was burned out on people. MJ felt resentment toward "the church". But it's important for you to know that we came out of tha...

http://www.markweaver.info/2015/04/hiking-thoughts.html
Life and thought in the rarified air at 8,500 feet. Friday, April 24, 2015. I've been feeling a pull in my spirit about hiking lately. Not just walking, which I do enjoy, but hiking.for distance.like 10-15 miles a day kinda thing. I think I got this into my "DNA" back when I was a Boy Scout. We hiked a lot, back in the day, when I was about 11-16 years old. One of my fondest memories is taking 3 weeks to hike/camp Philmont Scout Ranch. Life, kids, work, family, obligations.all these combine to make t...

Mark's Musings: mmmmm......me want........

Life and thought in the rarified air at 8,500 feet. Saturday, March 14, 2015. OK, I'm a fairly addicted "watch nerd". I think I've had a watch on my wrist since I was 8, a Timex. Always been fascinated the inner workings of a watch, the engineering it takes to produce one, with all the components, parts and synchronization required in such a VERY small space. I lean a bit more to the traditional analog style, but still enjoy the digital format as well. It's all SO intriguing to watch (ptp again) happen.

Mark's Musings: Let's Ride!!!!
http://www.markweaver.info/2012/04/lets-ride.html
Life and thought in the rarified air at 8,500 feet. Wednesday, April 25, 2012. My current bike - "Trinity" - on the 2009 Moab trip. Again, I was 7 years old.probably weighed about as much as a gallon of milk back then. So, I'm waxing nostalgic with this particular post. The spring is here in Colorado and it's fantastic.it beckons me to get the bike(s) out and get 'em going. I can't wait.all of a sudden, I feel I'm 12 years old again and I'm crazy-riding my Honda SL 70! And gets your heart racing a bit?
