Woman Mother Writer: July 2015
http://womanmotherwriter.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Tuesday, July 28, 2015. Art Projects: Win Some, Lose Some. Our bambino's daycare is closed this week for training and cleaning, so I've been brainstorming art projects to do together. Some were more successful than others, but the resulting dance party was the best. Second, we made homemade crayons. Ok, that's a bit of a misnomer. Rather, we salvaged broken crayon parts and melted them into new crayons following these instructions from Instructables. Wednesday, July 22, 2015. How do I write about it in m...

Woman Mother Writer: Daycare Playdates: I didn't skip them after all
http://womanmotherwriter.blogspot.com/2014/11/daycare-playdates-i-didnt-skip-them.html
Monday, November 10, 2014. Daycare Playdates: I didn't skip them after all. I was thinking about skipping the daycare playdates last week. My son's nap was too short the first day, so that seemed like a good excuse. (He can't possibly go sleepy! Then he bumped his head and cried a little. (He needs the comfort of his mamma! I closed the living room window and slammed my fingers into the baby guard (I can't drive injured! But, then we made it the first day. On a gloriously colorful fall day. So, I guess w...

Woman Mother Writer: Forza!
http://womanmotherwriter.blogspot.com/2015/08/forza.html
Monday, August 3, 2015. You can offer encouragement in Italian by enthusiastically shouting, "Forza! And that's what I say to you, dear reader knee deep in pool laundry, art projects, low-humidty day outings, ice pop clean up and everything else summer:. Forza" literally means, "strength." I know that's what I often need, especially with the extra distractions of summer. You can do it, writer. Block off some time, even just ten minutes a day, to write something. Anything. Question Air: November 2013
http://questionair.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
Daughter, poetry, life. Monday, November 18, 2013. Good-bye, So Long, Farewell, My Friends. I am a little sad writing this post, the very last one of Question Air. This was my first blog, the place where I learned how awesome blogging is, the place I began by asking questions (in case you ever wondered how this blog got its name). Then this was the place I returned to as a pregnant blogger, the place where I became a mommy blogger. And to follow Amelia's life at Amelia Brown:. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Woman Mother Writer: Keep a Notebook
http://womanmotherwriter.blogspot.com/2015/07/keep-notebook.html
Monday, July 13, 2015. The impulse to write things down is a peculiarly compulsive one, inexplicable to those who do not share it, useful only accidentally, only secondarily, in the way that any compulsion tries to justify itself." - Joan Didion's On Keeping a Notebook. We don't necessarily write what happened; this kind of notebook isn't a diary. There could be a color or a sentiment we want to remember and, perhaps, write into another context. Does he want to simply fill in the space or is he preservin...

Monday, June 29, 2015. Favorite Alphabet Books for Kids. One great joy of motherhood has been reading to our son. Here are some favorite alphabet books that we return to often:. Harry N. Abrams; Brdbk edition (August 6, 2013). Rad American Women A-Z: Rebels, Trailblazers, and Visionaries who Shaped Our History . . . and Our Future! City Lights Publishers (March 23, 2015). Templar (October 11, 2011). The colors, faces and variety make the letters memorable for our littlest reader, too. When we were gettin...

Woman Mother Writer: Daycare Update: Week 3
http://womanmotherwriter.blogspot.com/2014/12/daycare-update-week-3.html
Tuesday, December 16, 2014. Daycare Update: Week 3. Our son continued to cry hysterically when one of us dropped him off or picked him up. Then he stayed home sick for a few days and we started the next week with the same crying. Somehow, by mid-week of the second week, he didn’t cry when we dropped him off. He wasn’t smiling, but he seemed ok. What a relief that he was finally getting comfortable and enjoying his time with the other kids and the caretakers. While I still feel guilty for (what sometimes ...

Woman Mother Writer: Thank you to River Road Montgomery Child Care Association
http://womanmotherwriter.blogspot.com/2015/07/thank-you-to-river-road-montgomery.html
Tuesday, July 7, 2015. Thank you to River Road Montgomery Child Care Association. The Maples' painted garden. On Monday, our bambino started to transition to a new daycare closer to home. We're both back to ground zero as he acclimates (more on that soon), but also so much further along than that first day he attended Montgomery Child Care Association's River Road Center. Thank you, all. We'll miss you and never forget our bambino's first school. Montgomery Child Care Association. View my complete profile.
