Monday, November 15, 2004. It was another rainy, rainy day in Estiva today - but we still were able to accomplish more then we expected to. Right now the hope is that we will be able to help out with pouring the concrete to make up the first floor and that tomorrow it will be dry enough to make the mortar easier to work with. Saturday, November 13, 2004. Friday night we went to a Portuguese church service (our lovely missionary host Alana was kind enough to translate the sermon) at the day care centre / orphanage that is part of the drug rehab centre we are working on. The music was lively and uplifting and the sermon was thought provoking. Ann s reply Starfruit . Friday, November 19, 2004. After a week of hard work, translating menus and explaining Brazilian life to us, Carlos left us this evening to return to his wife and daughter in Sau Paulo. He will be missed! The weather has been sunny and wonderful, most of us are a little pink in the cheeks. Dwight has taken to wearing black knee socks to protect his calves.and entertaining approach to sun protection. I would encourage everyone to keep these children in your prayers after our trip here is over.

Wednesday, October 27, 2004. 10 Day's to go. We are leaving in a short 10 days from today. We are awaiting our visas in the mail and once again I have been assured they will arrive on time. Our team of 12 had a successful meeting Sunday afternoon with 11 of us present. In preparation for our trip down to Brazil we are still short with finances for the building materials themselves.
