When you turn around, this is the view of the upcoming road from Curtea de Arges. I was told that on very clear days, you can see up to the Danube. Now this is the view looking towards Vidraru lake, which is just on the other side of the tunnel. This road is open all year since it is the only way north through the Transfagarasan mountains.
