History - Point of Prevention

They came back and incorporated POP as a legal corporation in the State of Maine in 2005. In 2006, when Jennifer moved to California, POP was dissolved in Maine, and re-incorporated in California. The organization is in good standing with the California Secretary of State, the California Tax Franchise Bureau and the IRS. In 2007 another group headed off to Tanzania to conduct more trainings, this time 1492 people were trained, for approximately $12,000 (for 4 volunteers), or about $8.04 per person.

To fight against HIV/AIDS in Sub-Saharan Africa through collaboration, education and support of those impacted by the epidemic. To date, POP has trained over 2,200 Tanzanians in HIV prevention, has supported over a dozen children in school scholarships, and has continued to support several Tanzanian NGOs in meeting their HIV-related missions. WHAT’S THE POINT? The POINT is to get the information out to the people of Tanzania to protect themselves. The POINT is to empower Tanzanians to help themselves.
