Is the media most effective when it serves the intrest of share holders or the citizens of the nation? In the US, a free market model has been dominant in shaping the media, especially considering recent deregulatory acts, such as the 1996 Telecom Act. So as these corporations continue to grow, should we be concerned about these corporations and the intrests that they are serving?
