They are really good at searching large buildings in response to a burglar alarm. Imagine searching a Wal-Mart store with just a few officers. A nearly impossible task and it could take hours, you would never really be sure if anyone had been in there. A dog would do it quickly and better. What about a dog on a traffic stop? A police officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic infraction. The officer videotaped the incident. He wrote her a ticket and explained it to her. One thing I do sometimes is take a paper crime report and take my notes on that. It helps me to remember to gather all the information that is specific to that particular crime.
