Pietro's weblog on American politics and world fallout. Saturday, February 07, 2004. The crazy complicated Caucuses went pretty smoothly this morning. I am so amazed with the level of civic sense and responsibility in front of such an amateur level management of the event. I mean, I really appreciate the volunteer effort, but even more the dignity with which everybody copes with such a complicated and disorienting meeting. Meanwhile, here's some partial results (as of 6:51 pm, ET) Reporting: 55%:.

Pietro's weblog on American politics and world fallout. Sunday, February 01, 2004. They say Seattle is the only place where you can see a person waiting for the green light to cross the street under the rain when no car is even in sight. The rain was coming down, but you know seattolites, they don't even know. No need to mention that I didn't make it in. I only got to the entry hall where the nice Dean staff put a speaker for us "latecomers". The place was packed! Posted by Pietro @ 12:17 AM.

Pietro's weblog on American politics and world fallout. Thursday, March 18, 2004. Dean lnaugurates Democracy for America. Just been to the Seattle event announcing Dean's new organization Democracy For America. Got to admit the enthusiasm in the room was amazing and attendance was 10 times more than the last speech for the presidential campaign. After threatening to get back on the trail for the presidential elections (and underlinig 3 times that he was just joking! Posted by Pietro @ 2:51 PM.

Pietro's weblog on American politics and world fallout. Wednesday, February 04, 2004. Waiting the big twist of fate. Last week I wasn't able to make it in to see Dean at Seattle Town hall having arrived one hour early. This morning I made it. And I was there only fifteen minutes before the event. I really hope that tdoesn't mean "something". God I hope in the big twist of fate, he would make such a better president! Posted by Pietro @ 9:47 AM. Politica-mente (Pietro's Italian Blog).

Pietro's weblog on American politics and world fallout. Thursday, October 21, 2004. Maybe it's just because I'm not used to it yet, but I really believe this is all part of the strategy the republicans have been carrying over so well to move the battlefield (and the whole nation) more and more to the right. Since when is "liberal" an insult? I have not heard anybody "accusing" someone of being a libertarian, or any other of the labels of the far right for all that matter. This time is the very concept of...

Pietro's weblog on American politics and world fallout. Friday, January 30, 2004. The candidates from another point of view. So here's a thought. What if we analyze the candidates from abroad? Say you're a French guy, or even better Mr. Mitterand (which I don't particularly like). There's a lot of mending to do around the world. What Bush is leaving behind (hopefully he IS. What candidate then can help better trying to fix such a huge mess? One that voted for the war, but then changed his mind? The other...

Pietro's weblog on American politics and world fallout. Tuesday, June 29, 2004. In search of a motif. The ignominous end of the (formal) occupation of Iraq with its furtive ceremony and rushed getaway of the chief administrator Paul Bremer III underline that even the third possible reason for waging war in the middle east prooved to be inconsistent. Security, basic utilities, loacl police force, agreement on a possible constitution, preparedness for the election are all up in the air. Nevertheless Ju...

Pietro's weblog on American politics and world fallout. Sunday, February 01, 2004. So let's look at one of the possible futures. Getting South Carolina (and staying in the race). Gets Oklahoma or at least is a vary close second, and he stays in. Brings home a handful of states and remain ahead of the pack. Scream may passes on the tuesday giveaway, but takes Washington on Saurday and maybe does well in Michigan. So, what's so bad keeping the candidates in the race for another month? What do you say?
