After two months of job searching and some interviews, admittedly not a lot, I finally got hired by Berlitz Languages to work in their Palo Alto Office as their Kids program coordinator/business development rep. So, I will work on coordinating and selling Berlitz Language programs tailored for kids in the entire Bay Area, but focuses on Palo Alto for the time being. Right up my alley. Monday, October 31, 2011. Happy Halloween from Peru! First off-it is really weird to celebrate Halloween in the spring. I am so confused with being in the southern hemisphere. I keep thinking that Easter and the 4th of July is right around the corner. This year I will spend both Thanksgiving and Christmas in shorts and probably sweating from the humidity and heat. whoooo. Monday, July 25, 2011. Today I get to celebrate my third day of using public transportation in Peru! Transportation here is a mess. People don´t follow the traffic signals, they don´t respect pedestrians or lines on the street. Techincally 4 lines of cars can fit into a three lane road, but in Lima you can see up to 5 lines or cars in a street made for 3. Yay Peru. Parking like this is also common and totally acceptable. Monday, July 2, 2012. Weekend Activities II : Father's Day and SF's Ethnic Dance Fest. For Father's Day this year we went on a kayaking adventure in the estuary with East Bay Regional Parks. And then we went to the SF Ethnic Dance Festival. When the impromptu dancing broke up everyone stayed around and snapped photos of the dancers, the favorites were the Chinese Dancers who did this very fanciful, playful dance with what seemed to be 4 foot long feathers on their heads.
