Life Below the Line: March 2006
http://lifebelowtheline.blogspot.com/2006_03_01_archive.html
Life Below the Line. Tales From the Bottom of the Film Business. Wednesday, March 29, 2006. A few things I've learned traveling in Latin America:. 1) Riding in the back of a pick-up truck can be a fun and easy way to travel, but your ass will never be the same. 2) Wearing a flashlight on your head is not geeky. It's practical. 3) Bad movies are better when dubbed into Spanish, but Bruce Willis movies stink in any language. 6) In any language, children are smarter than we are. Posted by BTL at 2:11 AM.

One thing I didn’t mention in my post about calls to lift the gun carry ban on military bases is the little-discussed link between guns and suicide. Writing in a Vortex: Lagniappe
http://la-mitchell.blogspot.com/2013/11/lagniappe.html
Writing in a Vortex. One writer's quest to find and understand time. Sunday, November 3, 2013. So much time has passed since my last blog post. It's amazing how all-encompassing it can be to write a novel. As it should be, really. For a novelist, no amount of social media activity or blogging should ever take precedence over the quest to capture written words that are part of something larger and more enduring. My clients deserve nothing less than my best. And spent the better part of an entire evening r...

Writing in a Vortex: The Perfect Cup of Superstition

Writing in a Vortex. One writer's quest to find and understand time. Sunday, March 30, 2008. The Perfect Cup of Superstition. Each writing spot I frequent away from my desk has its own vibe. When it matches with my mood for the day, it's pure page-cranking bliss. When it doesn't, it feels like a note of discord I can't quite put my finger on. It's crazy, really, to hang productivity on a place's atmosphere or lack thereof, but it does play beautifully into the whole writer's superstition thing. March 31,...

A brief Thanksgiving meditation. November 26, 2015. One night in the week following the attacks on Paris, Los Angeles had a small windstorm. NeuronDoc: The Fear of Cooking and My New Adventures
http://neurondoc.blogspot.com/2014/01/the-fear-of-cooking-and-my-new.html
I am The Mistress of the Hippocampus. Keep that in mind. The Fear of Cooking and My New Adventures. I have said on many occasions that TheHusband did not marry me for my domestic capabilities. Stop laughing. You all know it's true. I'm not one to clean the house (hiring a cleaning service has done a lot in keeping our marriage sane). I will do laundry with minimal complaints, but I hate hate hate putting it away (I never said my behavior was rational). And I don't like to cook. So that tradeoff is a no-go.
