Sirius the brightest star in this constellation and is also called the Dog Star, This star is also attributed to Isis and her counterpart Osiris is attributed to Orion. Artemis and her brother Apollo were the children of Zeus and Leto. In some versions of their myth, Artemis was born first and helped her mother to deliver Apollo. When Apollo noticed that Artemis was spending a great deal of time hunting with the giant Orion, he decided to put an end to the relationship. He challenged Artemis to prove her skill at archery by shooting at an object floating far out at sea. Her shot was perfect. The target turned out to be the head of Orion. Both wolf and goat have both nurtured powerful mythological heroes in their infancy. Lupa the wolf suckled both Romulus and Remus. Fenrir is a most fearsome wolf in Nordic mythology. The Gods attempted to tether him twice by sheer force and twice he broke free. He is a God who transforms with the cyclical nature of the changing seasons. Mimicking the stages of birth, growth, maturation and finally death. As a sacrifice he travels through the underworld to be renewed as the Green Man at spring. He is a symbol death giving sustenance to new life. The she wolf Lupa discovered Romulus and Remus and suckled them in their infancy. The forms that Paul and Mark create simultaneously are ‘animistic’ possessing the spirit of the animal or entity as well as being layered by the tropes that have been the allegories of the ages. The narrative and symbolic relevance of the mythologies is to an extent subverted and distilled to align with the zeitgeist of contemporary culture.
