My art is about taking Zen into the world of daily life. With the Internet, and our cell phones streaming information faster and faster, contemplative practice is a challenge. And research from the last 20 years says mindfulness makes us thrive. Not just survive, thrive! That is the focus of my work now, in my art, in my life, and in my teaching. The answer is the same as in Dogen’s time, when he first brought Zen back to Japan from China. We anchor ourselves in awareness through our breath.
