http://tinasgardengrows.blogspot.com/2008/04/hummers-at-nursery.html
Taking back my yard. Friday, April 4, 2008. Hummers at the Nursery. I have so, so much I need to post: fruiting quince, smelly flowers, growing challenge, purchases, Goldsmith Seed trials.and on and on! But I am so tired! Tonight let me post a couple of cute hummingbird nests (with mama and babies) we had at the nursery last week. OK, bonus shot: These daffs were given to me by the nursery after they didnt sell and it was getting way too late to plant them. I then hauled them around for a few more we...

http://tinasgardengrows.blogspot.com/2008/03/elizabeth-magnolia.html
Taking back my yard. Thursday, March 20, 2008. I said no more Magnolia posts UNLESS the yellow one at work bloomed. Not only did it blossom but so did one a few houses down from me. The fact that I do not ever remember seeing the one in my own neighborhood before is proof to how dim I had been allowing the horticultural part of my brain to grow over the past several years. "sigh" (I am shaking my head in disgust). Anyhow, here are two of thee baby one at work:. Labels In Bloom This Week:. I have been wai...

Taking back my yard. Sunday, November 18, 2007. The onions are here! So what is all the fuss? In this area the onions will be ready to harvest from the end of May through June. Some like to break the onion tops over or tie them when they get tall, others dont. When about half of the tops fall over in late spring, the onions are near maturity and ready to harvest, although you can pull smaller ones at any time. We have several customers come in with their children, who plant them just for that! At the nur...

http://tinasgardengrows.blogspot.com/2008_01_01_archive.html
Taking back my yard. Wednesday, January 9, 2008. It has been a grey week for us at Mid City, and not from the storms. Early Monday morning John Mikolajcik. Sr (Mickey to all who knew him) passed away at the age of 86. He and his wife Wilma (Dollie to all who know her! Opened the nursery in July, 1954. We recently got to see the books from that time and the first days sale (which wasn't. Even on the first day) was .95 cents. Year I DID head back to that pond to take a look.maybe it was all the exotic.
