Pictures & Ponderings by Greg
Pictures and Ponderings by Greg. Monday, February 14, 2011. Jan asked for a new bedspread for Christmas, so I agreed, and she went and picked it out. That started a total revamp of our bedroom, with furniture painted black, trim painted white, and walls painted yellow and gray. It turned out great! Here are the before and after pictures. Saturday, July 24, 2010. Vacation to Mt. Rushmore and Nauvoo. Summer was having a cow because these pictures weren't posted yet, so we put them up for Jan. - Kristie.

Down the Garden Path
Down the Garden Path. Monday, September 14, 2009. The garden at the White House. I was looking at the website for the movie Dirt and came across this video. Http:/ www.whitehouse.gov/video/Inside-the-White-House-The-Garden/. About the garden Michelle Obama put on the grounds of the White house and I thought about my republican friends. And family and how they really are afraid of the president. Of President Obama. It scares me how much hatred people have for him already. Down the Garden Path. I took a cl...

Thinking Out Loud : Turning 40. There’s so much ado about turning 40. For some, it’s as a Milestone to assess life. And reflect how you’ve been. For some, it’s as a Deadline to achieve a goal. Like run a marathon, publish a book, learn a new language or start their own business. I achieved neither of those things. So, technically, for now, I don’t have anything specific to mark my turning 40th. Jeez, I quit after I learned how to order chicken rice and coffee, to- go in Mandarin and Hokkien. That shapes ...

The Book of Genesis. Genesis 1:1 – In the Beginning God Created. April 26, 2009 in Bible. 8220;In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” Gen. 1:1. The Holy scriptures begin with a bold opening; the first five words alone challenge the conventional educational wisdom of today. If the reader believes these words, they should not have much trouble with the rest of the scriptures, for they will have believed that God exists and that He made all things. July 22, 2012 in Bible. Pondering the Christmas Story - Part 9. Isn't it ironic that the first visitors and worshipers of the baby Jesus were social outcasts? Quite contrary to Jewish expectations of the coming of the Messiah. Should not the future King of the Jews be born in a palace? In the province of Judea where the more religious and educated Jews lived? In Jerusalem which was the capitol of the Jewish nation? Why do you think the magi came to Jerusalem asking, "Where is he who is born king of the Jews? Wasn't there anyone...
