Davy Crockett’s Running Frontier - I like to Run Insanely Long & Crazy Distances
http://www.crockettclan.org/blog
Loop around Lake Mountain. Talons Cove Golf Course. Davy Crockett’s Running Frontier. I like to Run Insanely Long and Crazy Distances Pony Express Trail 100. August 7, 2016. As ultra and trail running becomes more popular year after year I am alarmed about a lack of respect for the mountain by many of these new trail runners. For centuries, mountains and their summits have been recognized as sacred places yet many of these young trail runners seem to think of them only as their personal playgrounds.

An Endless Journey: Summer Solstice 6 Hour Run
http://trailaggie.blogspot.com/2011/06/summer-solstice-6-hour-run.html
Logging the infinite experiences of ultrarunning. Saturday, June 18, 2011. Summer Solstice 6 Hour Run. Last night I ran in the Summer Solstice 6 Hour (SS6H) Run in Abilene, Texas. This is my second time to run in the event - and I just love this race. Well organized, super friendly volunteers, a great aid station and awesome shirts and hats - what else could you ask for? What do I like about timed races? 2) Every timed race I've done has been a mile loop. No getting lost! 4) If you have a crew - you see ...

Logging the infinite experiences of ultrarunning. Thursday, June 11, 2015. The best recap of the Keys100 is through the GoPro captures my crew took on the course. Although it doesn't capture the heat, relentless sun, and high humidity of south Florida! Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Western States Training Camp. Rocky Raccoon 50 Mile. An Endless Journey: Jemez 50 Race Report
http://trailaggie.blogspot.com/2011/06/jemez-50-race-report.html
Logging the infinite experiences of ultrarunning. Friday, June 10, 2011. Jemez 50 Race Report. It's been a few weeks since I ran the Jemez 50 - but the experience is still etched in my mind. With more races looming upon the horizon it's time to put down my thoughts - reflect on the experience - and focus my attention on the next goal. Would my legs hold up with all of the climbing and descending? Would I hold it together mentally? After the first aid station there is a substantial climb up to the 2nd aid...

Adventures in Running: Rock Bottom
http://adventures-in-running-with-maurine.blogspot.com/2014/04/rock-bottom.html
Tuesday, April 1, 2014. The physical therapy I did earlier this year was good and helped me get over the three types of tendonitis I was battling. But it caused my plantar fasciitis to flare up - that was not so good. Right now I am wearing a boot for at least two weeks and working on pronating the left foot whenever I can while sitting and standing. I basically need to relearn how to walk correctly. I will also be working on massaging/stretching the foot, ankle and calf and letting the PF heal. Appalach...

Adventures in Running: July 2013
http://adventures-in-running-with-maurine.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Sunday, July 21, 2013. I have paced at two races this year since my foot has started to heal. Both have turned out to be very challenging. I have gotten to know a race director (RD) as a result and I really like the guy, but he needs to step up his efforts at race organization if he wants to continue to succeed. The last Friday in July, my friend, Leslie Petersen agreed to pace the 3:00 group for the Provo Midnight Half Marathon starting at 10 pm (Why can't these races start at 9:30 pm? Recommendations: ...

An Endless Journey: Leadville 100 Trail Run Race Report
http://trailaggie.blogspot.com/2013/08/leadville-100-trail-run-race-report.html
Logging the infinite experiences of ultrarunning. Monday, August 26, 2013. Leadville 100 Trail Run Race Report. Starting off with a few shout-outs! Another hundred mile run without equipment issues. Two new pair of Brooks ASR 10's held up well - including some mountain climbs in wet feet after the river crossing at Twin Lakes. My Brooks 5" essential shorts were great all day and caused zero chafing issues - and my running pants and hat kept me warm once it cooled off. 2013 Leadville Trail 100. The infamo...
