brandonkuehnmfaprogram: Weeks 17 & 18. Final Paintings
http://brandonkuehnmfaprogram.blogspot.com/2009/11/weeks-17-18-final-paintings.html
Thursday, November 19, 2009. Weeks 17 and 18. Final Paintings. I tweaked this one a bit and it's done. Dark mood. No weird little hidden things. Just blue/black/white and a blurry photo. This one was supposed to be a blurry side of the road photo. I am thinking it will be a bit too subtle for the AIB people, but we'll see. There's a small projectile in the upper left. The construction fence, etc. That's a wrap for the 3rd semester. I hope I get to go to school in January. View my complete profile.

Saturday, August 14, 2010. It's a busy month here in Thesisville! I'm borrowing that term from Carolyn Rordam from my group, because I love it! Got my first feedback from advisor Hannah Barrett on the Thesis and it's good! Also working hard on these 3 paintings for my thesis show. Lots of layers, the 2 groundview paintings I'm starting to paint the forrest floor. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

Friday, July 23, 2010. July, Semester 4. Getting started on 3 large paintings (48 inches wide by 36 inches tall) for my thesis show. All 3 will be the bamboo setting with clouds. The first 2 will be very similar so I'm only posting 1 for now. The last one is looking up. Lots of layers on these already. Lots of thin transparent oily layers hence the high shine and the white outs from my lights on the sides of each. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). July, Semester 4. View my complete profile.

brandonkuehnmfaprogram: Almost Group 4.... Finally!
http://brandonkuehnmfaprogram.blogspot.com/2010/05/almost-group-4-finally.html
Thursday, May 20, 2010. Almost Group 4. Finally! There will be 3 large bamboo paintings, 30 x 40 inches each. With the amount of detail that goes into each one, I think it's a good idea to get a jump on this. This one shows some reference photos in the upper right corner. I did those last fall. I literally had my brother walking around the woods with a smoke bomb while I photographed him. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Almost Group 4. Finally! View my complete profile.

Friday, July 31, 2009. Weeks 3 and 4. The fire tornadoes are almost done. A group show for the Hinckley Fire Museum gets hung in the middle of the month and this is my entry. My photos aren't looking great with the wet paint/light glare, but hopefully you can get a rough idea. Continuing to paint slowly and meticulously. Lots of small brushes. It's a much slower, more demanding process. Sunday, July 19, 2009. Semester 3: Weeks 1 and 2. These two are both from the perspective of being underwater. Some...

best of: Holly!!!
http://joeyveltkamp.blogspot.com/2012/12/holly.html
Saturday, December 29, 2012. Check out the latest issue of City Arts Magazine for a profile on my favorite taste-maker, Holly Hinton! Anything cool in my life probably came from Holly. She's the perfect date. The perfect hostess, and she never stops surprising us with her bag of tricks! If she says something is cool, I'd believe her. (Her response to "Place to party? T-Dock, Lake Washington", naturally.). Christmas 2012 (of course Holly has a Santa suit). Posted by Joey Veltkamp. More than a bit. Refable...

Wednesday, May 15, 2013. Molo at the Movies: Iron Man 3. Look, if you are at all on the fence about Iron Man 3, then just get your ass off the couch and go see it. Otherwise you'll probably get caught up in Star Trek and Superman an d Thor and Pacific Rim and Wolverine and Monsters Inc 3 and all the other summer blockbusters and let this one slip by. D on't do that, this may well end up being the best popcorn movie of the summer. Please. The vill ains from the recent Bond flicks? Of falling into the wron...

Sunday, November 30, 2014. Cat print sale - proceeds to charity! Well, hello there art (and cat? It has been some time since I last wrote; if you scroll down you can see that my last post was a review of Man of Steel. Which I gave a generous 3 out of 5 Molos. In any case, I felt I should have some sort of "Hello, I'm back" introduction here before I started in on my real purpose (Dating Cats) for this all of these words, but if I keep it up, we'll never get to the point (Dating Cats). These drawings are ...
