Poppycock & Other Creative Nonsense: The Farewell Tour #2 - 140th Driffield Show, 2015
http://poppycockcreative.blogspot.com/2015/07/the-farewell-tour-2-140th-driffield.html
Saturday, 25 July 2015. The Farewell Tour #2 - 140th Driffield Show, 2015. Looks like this year was my last chance to visit the Driffield Show so as I haven't been for a few years off I went last Wednesday. I was hoping to arrive in time to see my friends cow, Bronte, on parade. I was too late, Bronte had already strutted her stuff in the arena and had been awarded second in her class. This is Bronte. We swiftly moved along to the sheep pens and photo-bombed some of those guys. Sadly no Herdwicks which a...

Sunday, 27 July 2014. Burnby Hall Gardens - summer day out. Also managed a very nice day out last week as there's not much on the horizon with us for holidays this year. We went to Burnby Hall Gardens in Pocklington, of all my 11 or so years in only living about 14 miles from Pocklington I had never been. I've always wanted to go as its lakes are famous for having the National Collection of Hardy Water Lilies. Below was a variety of white poppy but I couldn't find the name tag, reminded me of a fried egg!
Poppycock & Other Creative Nonsense: March 2015

Tuesday, 24 March 2015. New folk fabric design. Sometimes I make a new fabric design from the embers of some old designs and that's what I did last week when I created an American style folk fabric. A few years ago I designed some Amish people cut and sew kits which I think I only sold one of, the idea was to make a family group and string them like bunting. Friday, 20 March 2015. Solar Eclipse, first day of Spring. Hurrah spring is here. I also think I made the hole too big for my pinhole camera. No...

Tuesday, 28 April 2015. Quick trip to Skye. I'm just back from a 4 day trip to Skye, it only feels like 2 days with the 10 hr drive up and back filling the best part of 2 days. It was mainly business with a bit of pleasure. I've designed leaflets, mugs and quite detailed folding tags for the garments. They let me have a few mugs and tags to take back as samples but they haven't had the leaflets at the shop yet. The thing about visiting such an interesting shop is I always find something new to buy and su...
Poppycock & Other Creative Nonsense: New work, crochet and flowers
http://poppycockcreative.blogspot.com/2015/05/new-work-crochet-and-flowers.html
Thursday, 21 May 2015. New work, crochet and flowers. May had a slow start but I've ended up very busy, mainly with design work and that is keeping me tied to my desk at the moment. It's the time of year I do label designs for my vineyard client and this year they are releasing some new wines with my illustrations on the labels. I can give you a sneak preview of the new East Coast and Dalesman wine which sound delicious. The wines are doing very well and picking up plenty of awards these days. You get to...

Living and crafting in the Pennine foothills. Friday, 25 November 2011. Last weekend was spent on a retreat out on the north Yorks moors - very Kathy and Heathcliffe complete with swirling mist. Organised by pal Jane at the West End outdoor centre the emphasis was on Reiki, meditation, shamanic drumming and stick breaking meditation in the woods. Great weekend had by all although the journey home was pretty horrendous because of thick fog. All the pics relate to the retreat - we were in nidderdale. The g...

Friday, 24 February 2017. Blueberry Shed holiday cottage is open and new creations. I don't think I've particularly shown our holiday cottage on the blog, probably because it has taken so long to get going but we are open and taking bookings for 2017. It's a bit slow at present but I'm sure things will pick up and we are trying to get WiFi into the cottage this year, that has been an ongoing struggle from the start. Http:/ blueberryshed.co.uk/. The bedroom featuring some of my art and craft work to buy.
