Porcelain Production Journal

Friday, 19 October 2012. My last blog post was so melodramatic! I have actually done a bit of texture work since then. Take a look:. I should be honest, the reason why all this got done was because I needed some more polished work so I could start job hunting. Nothing spells motivation like the need of M-O-N-E-Y. I wanted to revisit Anna. When I made this image her face wasn’t rigged yet so she looks a little boring for a protagonist. I wanted to get her into these much more dynamic poses. It's the latti...

Porcelain Production Journal: September 2012

http://www.porcelainproductionjournal.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html

Friday, 7 September 2012. Poke, poke…poke. It doesn’t seem to be moving. I can’t tell if it’s alive or dead. One thing’s for sure, my film Porcelain is not doing so good. Last blog post I promised to model a doll. I begrudgingly (I still am having a difficult time mustering up motivation) worked on one for a while. And then it happened again. It's the lattice.should of saved another version of the file. There I said it. I really don’t want Porcelain to die but I’m having a hard time coming up...I am not ...

Porcelain Production Journal: November 2011

http://www.porcelainproductionjournal.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html

Friday, 11 November 2011. I know that my blog posts as of late have been heavy on the story development stage so to switch things up I’ve decided to show a bunch of my works in progress. I have mostly been focusing on modeling the major props and characters. So here is the room. I like looking at it for this perspective because it reminds me of being a little kid and making shoe box house for my toys. Here’s what it looks like inside. T-posed Anna and half unwrapped chair. What a pretty picture. I really...

Tuesday, 4 October 2011. Check out my leica reel! Thoughts on my leica reel. 1) I am pleased with how it turned out. I think I’m heading in the right direction. With Porcelain it’s like I’m working in the dark. I feel a little lost as I battle my way through storyboards and models. But every now and again I will do something that seems right, where it think “oh yeah, this is my film! 2) The ending does not work! Current to April 30, 2012. In a society where children are seen and not heard, a young girl i...

Porcelain Production Journal: Animation in CG is like Under Water Spaghetti

http://www.porcelainproductionjournal.blogspot.com/2012/04/animation-in-cg-is-like-under-water.html

Sunday, 1 April 2012. Animation in CG is like Under Water Spaghetti. The exclusive problem in CG is what I like to call underwater spaghetti. I’ll start with underwater. In CG animation you start with the main poses (key poses) of the scene. Next you work on the in-betweens, the movement to get from one key pose to the next. To get the in-betweens, I flip a switch and the computer program fills in all the animation between the key poses. It is the worst part when animating in CG,. Cuz it was looking good.

Porcelain Production Journal: January 2012

http://www.porcelainproductionjournal.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html

Sunday, 29 January 2012. The Music Box Conundrum. These are the major elements in my film:. Anna, the protagonist. Those of you who have been following my progress during these last few months may be wondering why I haven’t model it yet. I mean for goodness sake, I’ve modeled the mother twice and she’s in less than half of the shots the music box is in. The reason is the music box has caused some concern. It’s not reading properly. This is not what I wanted. And I wanted the audience to get that! Ummmmmm...
