Two thousand vines planted in 2004. Phoenix: a Seyval and Bacchus Cross. The microclimate of the area allows a long ripening period into the early autumnal mists. Our aim is for a healthy farm system encouraging natural growth and a balanced environment. Creation of fertile soils encouraging natural predators. Broad swathes of grass and meadow strips promoting the best possible air flow around the vine canopy.

An artisan vineyard established in 2004 on the gentle south facing slopes of the Dorset Downs benefitting from high light levels found only on coastal vineyard sites, the Jurassic Coast being only 2 1/2 miles away. A Kimmeridgian clay loam with a limestone substrate. To produce wine from vines that have been nurtured in balance with the countryside to create a fresh, light, distinctive wine full of echoes of an english summer.
