Scenes from the rose garden | P O R T L A N D I N G
https://portlanding.wordpress.com/2010/07/24/scenes-from-the-rose-garden
8211; postcards from everyday adventures –. July 24, 2010. Scenes from the rose garden. Posted by portlander under Portlanding. On a sunny afternoon a few weeks back, B and I paid a visit to Portland’s lovely rose garden. Under bright blue skies, we were afforded a clear view of Mt. Hood looming over the city. And I even managed to get a photo through the telescope to show the mountain to you in all its snowcapped glory. It was a perfectly pleasant way to spend an hour on an otherwise ordinary afternoon.

8211; postcards from everyday adventures –. August 21, 2010. Scenes from Elk Cove. Posted by portlander under camping. In celebration of B’s pal Kathy’s 40th birthday, they, their friend Matt and I set off on an overnight backpacking adventure. Adams off to the north, with a ring of clouds hovering around its mid...

8211; postcards from everyday adventures –. August 2, 2010. Travels with the p’s. Posted by portlander under traveling. In mid-July I did some family-related traveling. My first stop was in Arkansas, where the p’s have set up shop now. The highlight of my time in their new home state was a mini roadtrip to Little Rock, where we visited the Clinton Presidential Library, the state capitol and a scenic lakefront park that is home to The Old Mill. Old train trestle in Little Rock. Field of empty chairs.

8211; postcards from everyday adventures –. July 12, 2010. Posted by portlander under daytripping. For the 4th of July weekend, my college friend Kyle and a couple of his amigos paid a visit to Portland. While they were in town, I managed to pull them away from the local brewpubs long enough to enjoy a couple of mountain hikes. And if you knew how much they love beer, you would fully appreciate what an accomplishment this was. After a quick lunch break at a scenic MSH vista point…. Enter your comment here.

Rainier is the little one on the left. Fence near our lunch spot atop the dike. B on his bike. Once we arrived at the farm, there was plenty more to enjoy. Out in the fields, we sweated up a storm picking marionberries, raspberries, blueberries and boysenberries. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here.

Portlanding
Portlanding (v.)- a pipe dream. Cats, More Cats and Buzzfeed Celebrities. At some point around midnight last night, I made the decision that the next morning I was going to bike to the local cat cafe and crank out some work. Only half of that itinerary actually worked out. Purrington’s Cat Lounge is one of only a handful of cat cafes in the country, so when I realized that it was only a matter of miles away, I got excited. A cat shelter with coffee? After I’d fully acknowledged that my attempt to d...
