Na Bi Gòrach. Port Righ have recorded their first album: Na Bi Gòrach. It is a collection of mostly Scottish tunes, with a few originals and a sea shantey thrown in for additional spice. While known for Celtic harp, shuttle pipe, and singing, Port Righ has expanded their horizons by including several selections with English concertina and one with Ugandan drum. The closing track, a lullaby, is played on the Highland bagpipe. For immediate secure online purchase using your PayPal account. Electric harp, s...
Port Righ -- Celtic Harp and Bagpipe Music
http://www.portrigh.com/bio.html
Port Righ (pronounced "Port Ree". Is the Gaelic name for the town of Portree on Scotland's Isle of Skye. It is usually translated as "king's port" but may also be translated as "king's music." Since the Celtic harp and the bagpipes were both historically used to entertain kings, the name seems fitting for this unusual group. Depending on the dialect. To a multi-instrumental showcase of the music of Scotland ( A Waulking Tour of Scotland. Jo's most recent album, Flights of Fantasy.

Wandering Harper: Back to Oslo
http://triharpskel.blogspot.com/2008/06/back-to-oslo.html
Sunday, June 8, 2008. We packed up and hand breakfast with Brigit and Sue, Charlotte having already left for the airport. Our drive took us on a few familiar road, but a lot of new territory, and although we didn’t have much time to stop, we had brief stops in:. Voss, where we saw this unusual church and yet another sign telling us not to jump motorcycles over cars. (Not what this sign really means, but doesn’t it look like it? Wandering Harper: May 2008
http://triharpskel.blogspot.com/2008_05_01_archive.html
Saturday, May 31, 2008. Tuesday, May 27. We walked back with Sue, who wanted to stop in the store for shampoo, so we grabbed this opportunity to buy another peanutter bar, which we’d discovered in Oslo. Wonderful chocolate bar covering peanuts and caramel – delicious! We saved them for later in the day. We walked to the church in Hovin – where we saw this troll at the door, The hike up was steep, a really good workout. We arrived back and had a long chat with Karin, where she showed us her home, with an ...
Wandering Harper: Being Tourists
http://triharpskel.blogspot.com/2008/06/thursday-may-29-breakfast-this-morning.html
Sunday, June 1, 2008. Thursday, May 29. From Notodden we went to the Heddal Bygdetum, a much smaller version of the Folk Museum we saw in Oslo, but with a wonderful tour guide that showed us the place all by ourselves. Highlights included the amazing rose painting on the walls by famous Olav Hansson, looms and weavings, and pancakes with jam for a snack (which served as lunch for us.). Beth called to check on our next destination and found that the person was confused and thought we were coming in July!
Wandering Harper: Long Day 2
http://triharpskel.blogspot.com/2008/06/long-day-2.html
Saturday, June 7, 2008. After spending a short time exploring the area, we headed back to the bus and took a detour up a steep, narrow, winding road beside one of the stunning waterfalls. You could see the whole valley at each switchback, which was simply beautiful. We drove along the Hardangerfjorden and a piece of the Bjornafjorden, both picturesque. We stopped at another waterfall, Fossatun, which is unusual in that you can walk behind the falls. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Boat ride and sami.
