Where children come first. Newer posts →. Today sees the beginning of SATs for year 6, due to run until thursday lunch time. Staff and pupils of other year groups wish them all the best. Year 1 visit the Ragged School Museum. This week children from Year 1 visited the Ragged School Museum in Mile End. The school was set up by Thomas Barnardo in 1877 to enable underprivileged children access a basic free education. Portway children experienced a Victorian style lesson under the strict eye of Ms Perkins.
