The POSASv2.0 consists of two parts: a Patient Scale and an Observer Scale. Both scales contain six items that are scored numerically on a ten-step scale. Together they make up the ‘Total Score’ of the Patient and Observer Scale. Furthermore category boxes are available to score nominal parameters (e.g. type of colour). The POSAS was developed in 2002 for the assessment of all different types of scar tissue. The POSAS enables a structured clinical evaluation of scar quality.
