A Lung Cancer Inspirational Story. A Time for Courage. Melanie Beard Kau 1965-2011 →. A Gift of Love. December 22, 2011. We thought we would have Melanie for at least two more months, but unfortunately she did not make it two weeks. Melanie passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, December 21. She was surrounded by her family and sent onward with tearful expressions of gratitude for a life well lived and faith in eternal families. Merry Christmas to all and to all a good “fight”. A Time for Courage.

Sunday, July 4, 2010. I love the 4th of July! Staying up all night, watching a parade in the heat, going all day long, what is there not to love. We slept out on the parade route.
