One mom's attempt to live out her ideals with authenticity and optimism
The Positive Parenting Challenge: Day 245: Still Here
http://positiveparentingchallenge.blogspot.com/2011/09/day-245-still-here.html
The Positive Parenting Challenge. One mom's attempt to live out her ideals with authenticity and optimism. Wednesday, September 7, 2011. Day 245: Still Here. If I believed in labeling, I'd call myself a bad blogger, neglectful even. But fortunately this project is as much about accepting my own limitations and setting realistic expectations as it is anything else. So to answer your question, yes, I'm still here. In searching for a new look I noticed that the things I was naturally drawn to were generally...
The Positive Parenting Challenge: Day 212: Forward Motion
http://positiveparentingchallenge.blogspot.com/2011/08/day-212-forward-motion.html
The Positive Parenting Challenge. One mom's attempt to live out her ideals with authenticity and optimism. Friday, August 5, 2011. Day 212: Forward Motion. In processing my own behavioral patterns I've acknowledged culture. All factors, and significant ones. But lately I've been looking more practically than philosophically at this issue. Is why. My neurons are firing down well-worn pathways and I can't stop them. I can't focus on restraining coercive communication, I must. Avoiding or attacking the nega...
The Positive Parenting Challenge: Day 260: Hug It Out
http://positiveparentingchallenge.blogspot.com/2011/09/day-260-hug-it-out.html
The Positive Parenting Challenge. One mom's attempt to live out her ideals with authenticity and optimism. Thursday, September 22, 2011. Day 260: Hug It Out. First, I've got to say that with the new look and feel of the blog, it's a place I actually enjoy coming to. It kinda lifts me up. Whoa. I hope you feel the same way! Anyway, moving on to more important things. Instead of moving away from the negative, I'm focusing on moving toward the positive. But what exactly does that look like? I hate to oversi...
The Positive Parenting Challenge: Day 50: The Illusion Part II
http://positiveparentingchallenge.blogspot.com/2011/02/day-50-illusion-part-ii.html
The Positive Parenting Challenge. One mom's attempt to live out her ideals with authenticity and optimism. Monday, February 21, 2011. Day 50: The Illusion Part II. I will choose to find a positive perspective under even the most negative circumstances. To focus on the things I value about my children, not the things that drive me nuts. To extend the same grace, love and forgiveness to myself that I try to lavish on my husband and children each day. Real or imagined. Without external control this pers...

http://positiveparentingchallenge.blogspot.com/2011/04/day-102-activism-is.html
The Positive Parenting Challenge. One mom's attempt to live out her ideals with authenticity and optimism. Saturday, April 16, 2011. Day 102: Activism Is. I'm sitting at my dining room table surrounded by enfamil swag, literally sick to my stomach. I've got a "hospital gift," a "first visit nutrition gift," a "2-month visit gift" and even a "third trimester gift," because it's never too early to undermine breastfeeding. Is sure to change your mind! I could go on to quote every piece of tripe they include...

Not a big deal until I was walking out of the pen and heard HIM.the rooster was running after me and got my heal. I was freaked out! So that's that.I don't need to deal with mean roosters. This site had great info!
Spellbound Baby: EC Files: week one
http://spellboundbaby.blogspot.com/2011/03/ec-files-week-one.html
Saturday, March 19, 2011. EC Files: week one. Keen hasn't worn a diaper since we left the hospital. He lays on prefolds and as we snuggle we learn from each other. I caught a poop the first or second night, our first pee yesterday and a few more today. I am amazed to see the way he is learning to use the few actions with which he can communicate to say he has to pee, poop or burp. Often he will communicate before he really has to go then wait and I have to watch for the second EC. Brooke M. Walsh. Christ...

http://www.mnhmslmom.com/2012/06/its-officiali-am-crazy.html
General ramblings from a mom and her six kids! Wednesday, June 20, 2012. It's Official.I am CRAZY! A few weeks back I told the people in my Weight Watchers meeting that I was thinking of putting my membership on hold because we had taken on another Safe Families. Girl I know that these placements can be extremely stressful for me.and with stress comes unwanted added poundage. How I wish I could convey tone of voice.but it was an incredulous tone. I had to ask myself.why do I have six kids? The simple ans...
Spellbound Baby: PPC: Revelation!
http://spellboundbaby.blogspot.com/2011/04/ppc-revelation.html
Thursday, April 28, 2011. This week has been my first real week with the two kids by myself. I had part of a few weeks before but there was always a visitor, a day off work, or something to help me. It's been fun to be able to get everything back in order the way it runs when it is just the kids and I, but also a challenge to do everything. Mostly to do things for everyone at the same time. But I have figured that out by being stronger about prioritizing my time. That was my utmost goal. So, I realized:.
Spellbound Baby: PPC day seventy nine: I made dinner
http://spellboundbaby.blogspot.com/2011/03/ppc-day-seventy-nine-i-made-dinner.html
Thursday, March 31, 2011. PPC day seventy nine: I made dinner. That, my friends, is a huge task. I usually end up waiting until 4 or 5, then am forced into some kind of boring or non-ideal dinner, which for the end of pregnancy meant Joe would be greeted by a very round, hungry lady and a stir-crazy 2-year old zooming toward bed time. Then I would request to go out because, frankly, the idea of cooking was exhausting. Or we would eat something prepared simply. Nothing exciting to the soul. Brooke M. ...
Spellbound Baby: Unplugging for peace
http://spellboundbaby.blogspot.com/2011/04/unplugging-for-peace.html
Thursday, April 7, 2011. The title makes it sound like I am about to start a long journey of getting people to turn off the lights to save the world and create peace. Maybe someday . ;). For now it's just for me and I am not talking about lights. I am talking about this blinking box. But then I realized I needed to create more rhythm and actually stick to it. So I got off the computer and got into being with my boys. And you know what? Now when I check my email or facebook. Well, it is working. The flip ...

Positive Parenting | Help Your Child Develop a Positive Identity
Skip to main content. Skip to primary sidebar. Skip to secondary sidebar. Help Your Child Develop a Positive Identity. Are All the Children In? Posted by Bonita Jewel. I think oft times as night draws nigh. Of the old farmhouse on the hill,. Of a yard all wide and blossom-starred. Where the children played at will. And when the night at last came down. Hushing the merry din,. Mother would look around and ask,. Are all the children in? Oh, it’s many, many a year since then,. And the house on the hill.

The Positive Parenting Challenge. One mom's attempt to live out her ideals with authenticity and optimism. Wednesday, September 28, 2011. Day 266: Inspiration and Direction. I was inspired by this. Today I'm inspired every day. Usually by lots of things. And whether it's because I'm easily inspired or because I'm constantly seeking out inspiration I haven't decided yet. Either way, I felt nudged in a specific direction not only on my parenting journey, but for upcoming posts. Thursday, September 22, 2011.
