November 10, 2013. In October, we spent a weekend in DC. I enjoyed a few days working and visiting with my good friend Long (who gave me a tour of the Federal Reserve), and then Eric and I had a few days together with our friends in Alexandria. December 31, 2012. One of my favorite things at Christmastime is to see The Nutcracker. No matter how many times I watch this ballet, I never tire of the story and am enchanted by the music and beauty. I sometimes feel like dancing around afterwards. Eric and I saw the New York Ballet Company perform at Lincoln Center, and while waiting for the subway home we saw all these little kids twirling and jumping. Of course you cannot take photos at Lincoln Center, so the ones below are courtesy of the NYBC.

June 12, 2013. The first weekend of June was the PPPL Open House. I really enjoyed walking around Eric's lab and seeing some of the fusion machines he talks about - it helped visualize the magnitude of his work. November was a busy month - it usually is because Eric and I both have annual conferences that take place around the same time. This year, Eric's conference was in Denver, so I made quick trip out there after the conference so we could visit my sister and her family. My niece is getting so big and talkative - it was really fun to play with her!

February 17, 2013. Somewhere bright and cold. One of the best parts of living in New Jersey are the sunny winter days. Last weekend we got a pile of snow and tried to do a little cross country skiing at Mercer County Park Northwest. The snow was too sticky and wet, so we decided to just walk through the woods.
