Microbiologist XX: Yep, it's been that kind of day.
http://microbiologistxx.blogspot.com/2011/02/yep-its-been-that-kind-of-day.html
Ramblings of a female microbiologist. Tuesday, February 1, 2011. Yep, it's been that kind of day. I started the day off well enough. I woke up on time, I made myself some coffee (bonus) so that I wouldn't need to stop on the way. I get in the car and proceed to work, quite proud of the $1.50 I am saving. However, about 30 seconds later, the universe decided that today, I would provide it with comic relief or something. Not the good kind). 2 My boob is really wet and warm. Several labor-intensive sips lat...

Microbiologist XX: Friday Funny: F**k you and your f**cking cheeseburger
http://microbiologistxx.blogspot.com/2011/01/friday-funny-fk-you-and-your-fcking.html
Ramblings of a female microbiologist. Thursday, January 20, 2011. Friday Funny: F* k you and your f* cking cheeseburger. I don't know if I've mentioned this before or not, but I am from Texas. Although I don't share many of the opinions and views expressed by the inhabitants of my home state, I do love the Texas fast food burger joint know as Whataburger. When I was little I thought it was water burger). Like any establishment open 24h, drunk idiots tend to congregate at Whataburger. I am a post-doctoral...

Microbiologist XX: Dumb F**king Donkeys Strike Back
http://microbiologistxx.blogspot.com/2011/01/dumb-fking-donkeys-strike-back.html
Ramblings of a female microbiologist. Wednesday, January 26, 2011. Dumb F* king Donkeys Strike Back. I’m sure this is common in many labs, departments and offices: Some dumb fucking donkey (DFD) takes advantage of a good situation and everyone suffers because the people in charge prefer punishing everyone instead of confronting the person who is actually causing the problem. These instances might include, but are not limited to the following examples. Solution: Instead of speaking to DFD, the entire lab ...

Microbiologist XX: I can't say I'm too surprised.
http://microbiologistxx.blogspot.com/2011/01/i-cant-say-im-too-surprised.html
Ramblings of a female microbiologist. Friday, January 14, 2011. I can't say I'm too surprised. I am not big on making resolutions. That's not to say that I don't make any, but they are usually the same and I tend to make them multiple times of year. Two of my on-going work resolutions are: (1) stay up to date on freezer stocks and (2) keep the lab notebook current. Haha, keeing labbook current? Yes, leaving my post doc meant a lot of gluing, rewriting and making the books really pretty.). I am a post-doct...

Microbiologist XX: More time please?!?
http://microbiologistxx.blogspot.com/2011/01/more-time-please.html
Ramblings of a female microbiologist. Wednesday, January 12, 2011. Oh I don't know. Now that I am reading what I've written, it does sound a bit crazy. You don’t seem to get a lot of writing done at work. You have to stay few hours at home to write a lame abstract. Yet you have time to post at 3.24 pm (work hours! January 12, 2011 at 6:17 PM. Having said all this, realize that I am 4 yrs later still struggling to heed my own advice. January 12, 2011 at 6:42 PM. January 12, 2011 at 6:43 PM. Prio 1 would b...

Microbiologist XX: Rusty
http://microbiologistxx.blogspot.com/2012/05/rusty.html
Ramblings of a female microbiologist. Thursday, May 31, 2012. So, I think I might try to get back to blogging. Do I shake the dust off this old blog or start from scratch? It's been so long, it probably wouldn't make a difference and starting over can be exciting (unless we are talking about cloning.) Not to mention, the blogger interface is so different that I could barely figure out how to post. Well, whatever I decide, it's likely to be a slow start. I do hope I can build up some momentum though.

Microbiologist XX: Five more days
http://microbiologistxx.blogspot.com/2011/02/five-more-days.html
Ramblings of a female microbiologist. Thursday, February 10, 2011. In five more days I am presenting my data to the department. It's not really that big of a deal as far as presentations go, but I don't want to embarrass myself in front of people I see on a daily basis. Not to mention, having a seminar looming has many positive side effects. Anyone else find motivation as a result of giving a presentation? Presentations are my most pushing motivator. Like you, I hate going to them without new and exc...
