Just another WordPress.com site. July 10, 2013. So C loves to sing. And to be honest, I was getting a little bored with Disney princess songs. So I decided it was time–time to introduce her to “Castle on a Cloud.”. After listening to it over and over again, she was ready to perform it for us. The song was beautiful. She nailed the bridge, even sweetly whispering, “. She says, ‘Cosette, I love you very much. And then came the final verse…. I know a place where no one snores…. I want to see that production.

The Eyes: June 2013
http://tabbyeyes.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
Saturday, June 29, 2013. Avery has been doing awesome taking care of her little sister. I can tell she is going to be protective. One of our favorite happenings so far, is when we're in the car and Alexis is screaming, and Avery is covering her ears yelling "I don't like that sound! It's too loud for me! She has learned to start singing. A couple times her "lullaby, and good night" song has genuinely calmed Alexis. Avery is pretty proud of herself. She's also just plain pretty! Wednesday, June 26, 2013.

Tuesday, February 19, 2013. I have a feeling today's attire will repeat itself for the next week. (Thanks for the tutu and ballet shoes and tights, Yoyo! I can say Avery's taken to her second dance class more than the first, and we'll find out on Friday how the third goes! Hey, she throws dance "parties" (performances) for her stuffed animals multiple times a day now - worth any investment in a few dance classes for sure! Heart rate = 164.girl? Old wives' tale, right? The Eyes: One Month
http://tabbyeyes.blogspot.com/2013/07/one-month.html
Saturday, July 20, 2013. We've nearly reached 5 weeks with Alexis, and I sort of forgot what a challenge it is with a newborn! At least to function well without consistent sleep, and to deal with crying for unknown reasons and feel like you don't quite know your own daughter, is tough. But we have lots of support and day by day are improving, I think. Avery's funny talk continues. She's been into Romeo and Juliet (kids book from family):. I'm Juliet, and you are Romeo. What's YOUR name? We've had some sw...

The Eyes: Baby Blues

Thursday, August 8, 2013. Luckily, the only baby blues I've had lately are these sweet eyes gazing up at me:. And(drumroll).we got a smile! Alexis has been doing better with feeding and even gave me a 6 hour stretch between feedings this week (awake for the first part, but I got 4.5 hours of sleep for the first time! Time with her feels more like time with a real human being. But she's a good squawker - acquiring the nicknames, "Squirt" and "Chicken Wing" so far. We'll see what week 8 brings.

Tales of a Postdoc Nothing
Tales of a Postdoc Nothing. Or, Are You There Job? It's Me, Mark. Sunday, September 6, 2009. This is my last blog post. I've agonized about this for some time, wondering if I could keep up the pace of once- or twice-a-week postings now that I'm fully employed - preparing for classes, teaching those classes, grading papers, commuting an hour each way, trying to work on my own research and writing, all while getting to know a new city, meet new people, eat new pie. You're what I have now instead of a blog!

Physics and Astronomy department @ McMaster. Monday, 16 May 2011. My Dad has high blood pressure and my Mum had to receive treated breast cancer but what does this say about my future health? It is possible I have a predisposition to both these conditions but I may also never develop either. The difference comes down to what combination of genes I have inherited and for me to know for sure, my genome would have to be mapped. Professor Deamer first conceived the idea for the $1000 genome over twenty years...
