Chicago Marathon 2012 | Merhaba y'all
https://kaperuccio.wordpress.com/2012/10/09/chicago-marathon-2012
October 9, 2012. On Sunday, October 7th, Chicago was (mostly) shut down for the 2012 Bank of America Chicago Marathon. About a month ago, I decided to volunteer with Fleet Feet Chicago. And I handed out Gatorade to hundreds of thirsty runners at Mile 10. It was my first time working at a marathon, and I’d do it again in a heart beat. Despite the crisp 41 degree weather (perfect for runners, not so much fun for standing around), the marathon made for a great morning. The fruits of my labours. I loved seei...

July 20, 2012. Gelato at Festival del Gelato, Florence. Stained glass window in the Duomo, Florence. A bottega on a quiet street, Florence. On a walk-off home run, Boston. I like neon and stripes. I've had my passport stamped in 16 different countries. I love running and am training for a marathon. I study history and if I could go back in time, I'd want to meet Marie Antoinette. Home Sweet Home: Venice | Merhaba y'all

Home Sweet Home: Venice. October 12, 2012. Casa Artom, ti amo. In 2012, I was fortunate enough to visit Venice twice. I’m not sure I can stress enough how much I love the Fish. It’s the most magical city in Italy and maybe the entire world. Pretty bridge and palazzo near la Salute. Three years after I skipped the museum visit while studying abroad. It was well worth the wait, and I thoroughly enjoyed wandering through the palazzo that features works by Tintoretto, Canaletto and Tiepolo. After doing oblig...

First Half! | Merhaba y'all
https://kaperuccio.wordpress.com/2012/10/23/first-half
October 23, 2012. On Sunday, I ran my first half marathon. I didn’t have my phone to take pictures, but trust me when I say that the lakefront has never been more beautiful. 13.1 wasn’t easy, but it also wasn’t a killer. My Runner’s World Smart Coach program worked really well and was easy to follow. I can’t wait for my next one! View all posts by kaperuccio ». Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Ayasofya | Merhaba y'all
https://kaperuccio.wordpress.com/2012/10/17/ayasofya
October 17, 2012. Ayasofya or Hagia Sophia. My history professor briefly mentioned Hagia Sophia (Church of Holy Wisdom) in class the other day. Since it’s one of the oldest churches in the world and I really need to finish updating the end of my time abroad, Ayasofya is getting its own post. Tomb of Enrico Dandolo, il Doge di Venezia during the Sack of Constantinople. Sultanahmet Cami (Blue Mosque) from Ayasofya. View all posts by kaperuccio ». Leave a Reply Cancel reply. July 15, 2012. My family’s vacation began in Rome, marking my third visit to the Eternal City. Back in February, I survived the historic snowstorm; this trip was MUCH hotter. After a quick flight from Istanbul, I met up with my mom and little sister at the airport. It was the first time I had seen them since February! After checking into our hotel, we initially planned to visit the Colosseum and the Forum, but SURPRISE! My family and I instead headed over to the Pantheon and Trevi Fountain. Following the...

Windy City | Merhaba y'all
https://kaperuccio.wordpress.com/2012/09/21/windy-city
September 21, 2012. I find Willis/Sears Tower terrifying. Since it’s fresh in my mind, I’m writing a recap of my move to Chicago. I promise to finish my Italy/Turkey adventures this weekend before I start school. In case, you are new to this blog, I am becoming a student again! We did this Architecture Boat Cruise. Which was awesome and worth the $40. If you go, book ahead of time! I also loved the Nuveen Building, largely due to the reflections in its glass windows. It was a great day for a game, and we...
