Postscripts on Life: Thank you, TSA!
http://postscriptsonlife.blogspot.com/2009/12/thank-you-tsa.html
Thoughts at the end of the day. Tuesday, December 29, 2009. Thank you, TSA! Last month I took my car in for service. When I was next at the grocery store, I discovered that the dash button that pops open the trunk no longer worked. Despite my energetic and increasingly forceful efforts, it has continued to do nothing ever since. We resorted to opening the trunk with the key or the button on the key fob. Five and a half years ago, a car salesman had pointed out the little button that shuts off trunk acces...
Postscripts on Life: Life Cycle of a Dish Towel
http://postscriptsonlife.blogspot.com/2010/03/life-cycle-of-dish-towel.html
Thoughts at the end of the day. Saturday, March 6, 2010. Life Cycle of a Dish Towel. Upon joining our household the new towel is subjected to much admiration, petting, and occasional draping over-the-arm for inspection. It is introduced to the family, who must say only nice things about it (who knows how long this one will be a part of their lives? Did the person use soap or just rinse? Are these bits of flour adhering to its warp and weft? If it serves well, it may look forward to longer periods of rest...
Postscripts on Life: February 2009
http://postscriptsonlife.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Thoughts at the end of the day. Saturday, February 28, 2009. I can still shoot for once per month. Today's post brings my February total to. humph. One. It's a short month. I was sucked in by 100 Words. Today's word might be “fever,” which I had all through the night, and which has now given me an earworm to go with my cold. I apologize if I have infected you as well, but there may be some consolation in the knowledge that the earworm will likely be gone by this evening, unlike my cold. Oh, and we got ou...

Thoughts at the end of the day. Wednesday, January 14, 2009. Today I had to bribe myself into taking a walk. I'm not proud of this. I'm not sure why I wasn't eager to go. It was a beautiful day today - clear, sunny, in the 60's. Only yesterday I was noticing how good I feel when I take a walk outside. Never mind that exercise will help me sing better. Never mind that I'm sure to notice something lovely or interesting along the way. I whined to myself. Well, what if you walked to the store? I have one big...

The Gail and Rocco Show in China. Living and Loving in Southern China as Expats. Friday, May 8, 2009. We arrived in Zhuhai on Friday evening, had a delicious Chinese meal, and then took a walk to the beach. We enjoyed the company of 2 other foreign teachers that went on the trip with us—Vincent, from France and Giette from India. The next morning after breakfast, we headed for the ferry terminal to catch a ride to an island off the coast of Zhuhai that was about an hour away. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

The Gail and Rocco Show in China. Living and Loving in Southern China as Expats. Tuesday, April 14, 2009. TIC (This Is China). Welcome to warm days and pleasant evenings. Gail and I often walk around and gush at how much we love China because of the warm weather. Still, how can I put a value on being able to just "chill" by the Koi pond and listen to water fall? At what price do I dare collect being apart from my wife? Thursday, April 9, 2009. Gail, just nailed it at an English corner in Dali where they ...

Your one-stop-shop for all things written (or rewritten). December 1, 2014. December 8, 2014. Can you believe it’s finally December first? Time to reveal the big secret we’ve been talking about. I figure a little convo between the two of us will be a fun way to announce it. What do you think? I think it will extend the mystery, which makes me want to steeple my fingers and say, “Mwahahahaa.” I’m in. So, how do you think we should describe this thing? We’ll still need to put them through the grind, and we...
