Sharing our travels with family and friends. Tuesday, February 24, 2015. Today we went hiking in the Catalina Mountains. We were there a few weeks ago, following 2.5 days of steady rain and as you can see from this post, the streams and waterfall have receded quite a bit. We took friends, Walt and Carolae, who are from Michigan, with us. The streams that we crossed today, were barely moving, compared to a few weeks ago, when they were flowing with a strong current. Sharing our travels with family and friends. Thursday, September 12, 2013. Tonight, we had a visitor…This is a desert toad…They are quite large compared to the toads we are used to seeing in Michigan. In the background of this picture is the siding on our shed…the panel that this toad is sitting in front of measures 8” between each seam. That gives you an idea of how large these toads are. The good news is, I got some really nice pictures, the bad news is, that we had someone take a group picture of all of us, and it didn’t turn out…I guess that means we will just have to take another motorcycle ride again, and soon! Sharing our travels with family and friends. Wednesday, February 25, 2015. Organ Pipe National Monument. Today we went down to the border and spend the day with friends from our Bible Study group. From Left to Right, Norm, Gary, Cheryl, Bob, Jan, Carolyn, and Glenn. This is the first time Norm and I have been to this area of Arizona. The weather was perfect and the temperature was warm. What a difference a day can make! This area has several "crowned" cacti, including this Saguaro. The Ajo Mountain Range.
