pots and plots - A gardening blog

Pots and plots - A gardening blog. Monday, April 23, 2012. I thought I'd put a post on this blog and see if it ignites anyones interest! We've planted Sweet Peas and I'm hoping they are going to climb up the coned trellis, we've never had a lot of luck with Sweet peas though! These are our Broad beans, we've put the bamboo canes in for the runner beans but they're still in the greenhouse, they're not quite big enough to go in yet. Friday, June 12, 2009. I've had a garden ramble. Over at my place. Had a d...

pots and plots - A gardening blog: garden update....

http://potsandplots.blogspot.com/2009/05/garden-update.html

Pots and plots - A gardening blog. Friday, May 8, 2009. Potatoes, salad leaves and tomatoes all doing well. Some of the beans and peas have been eaten (slugs/snails) garlic, shallots still o.k. Had a disaster though. it was really windy here last night and this morning the mini greenhouse has lost its cover and contents (shelves. trays with seedlings) I have found the 3 pumpkins plant but not the peppers or tomatoes :0). May 8, 2009 at 2:38 PM. Oh and the weeds are thriving ;0). May 8, 2009 at 3:36 PM.

The Garden Plot: January 2009

http://minigardenplot.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html

Veggie growing, chicken keeping and all things to do with our garden. Monday, 26 January 2009. A welcome surprise yesterday morning - Gina is back into egg production! A perfect brown egg was waiting for us nestled among the hay in her sleeping compartment. Now we just need Georgie to get back on track and we can forget buying local eggs until next winter. Posted by Elaine, Ellies Treasures. Wednesday, 14 January 2009. Enjoying the winter sun. Spotted this lovely sign of Spring growing on our driveway.

The Garden Plot: May 2009

http://minigardenplot.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html

Veggie growing, chicken keeping and all things to do with our garden. Tuesday, 19 May 2009. Not such good progress - cabbage. OK, so I did this as an experiment and you never know, it may end up OK in the end! The cabbage I planted out were mini offspring from a shop bought white cabbage that had started to sprout. One of the five that I'd planted outside had started to flower so I can only guess it's gone to seed. We shall see what happens with the other four. Posted by Elaine, Ellies Treasures. Look at...

The Garden Plot: Bringing in the harvest

http://minigardenplot.blogspot.com/2009/10/bringing-in-harvest.html

Veggie growing, chicken keeping and all things to do with our garden. Saturday, 17 October 2009. Bringing in the harvest. Have been clearing the veggie plot of its remaining takings before an early frost takes it all from us! The more you pick, the more you get it seems in alot of cases. I've taken in loads more beans and tomatoes since taking this picture. I find the beans are best picked young and not too long, otherwise you are a bit stringy when eaten. Posted by Elaine, Ellies Treasures. Best of all ...

http://minigardenplot.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html

Veggie growing, chicken keeping and all things to do with our garden. Sunday, 28 March 2010. The weather has been lovely these last few days, so spring-like and so needed after our long, long winter. Snow apparently is forecast for this week, so most of this may be put on hold, we'll have to see. Posted by Elaine, Ellies Treasures. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Where would you like to go? From the Doggy's Mouth. A another year on . Happy viewing and happy growing! What's in the seed box? Didn't mature in 2...

The Garden Plot: August 2009

http://minigardenplot.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html

Veggie growing, chicken keeping and all things to do with our garden. Tuesday, 18 August 2009. It feels like I've let things slip alittle, or perhaps it's just that the veg are ticking along nicely and don't really need my help too much (apart from constant watering of the indoor chillies and tomatoes), and I did spend an afternoon this week weeding like mad (but I took the photos before I'd done this - doh! Sweetcorn - all six are doing OK, but all are very small - like last year, I'm not expecting much!

The Garden Plot: I'm back ... it's been a while!

http://minigardenplot.blogspot.com/2010/05/im-back-its-been-while.html

Veggie growing, chicken keeping and all things to do with our garden. Friday, 14 May 2010. I'm back . it's been a while! Guess what - wonderful news - the purple sprouting broccoli finally decided to sprout! I couldn't believe my eyes when, a couple of weeks ago whilst weeding the veggie bed, I noticed tiny little purple broc heads appearing on the three plants. According to the seed packet, this should have happened in February! Other sowing and growing news:. Posted by Elaine, Ellies Treasures. From th...

The Garden Plot: June 2010

http://minigardenplot.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html

Veggie growing, chicken keeping and all things to do with our garden. Tuesday, 29 June 2010. Garden photos and veggie update. The garden this year is looking good. Perhaps it's the extra long and cold winter, but the roses are really blooming and everything just looks lush and full of life. The section of ground directly to the side of the kitchen conservatory was just a glorified plant dumping ground last year! This photo shows the peas (I finally managed to grow a successful second crop - took three at...

The Garden Plot: June 2009

http://minigardenplot.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html

Veggie growing, chicken keeping and all things to do with our garden. Wednesday, 17 June 2009. I'd like to share these lovely photos that Katie and I took yesterday of the ducks that live across the road from home. There's been four sets of ducklings born so far this year although sadly one set didn't really make it past a few days. The second lot are more-or-less adult sized now and very, very cute. You can tell them from the adults by their yellow legs (adults have orange). We also have the distinctive...
