On blooming where you're planted
Potted Goose: A little longer...
http://pottedgoose.blogspot.com/2014/11/a-little-longer.html
On blooming where you're planted. Wednesday, November 5, 2014. Nell was so eager to start Kindergarten that the mere mention of the word school made her entire little body shake. She bounced out the door that first day, eager and fearless. So when the call came around lunch time on the fourth day of school that Nell had fallen from the playground equipment and likely broken her arm, I knew the time away from school would hurt her almost as much as the pain itself. Another trip to the grocery store? A few...
Potted Goose: Dried Basil Gift Set
http://pottedgoose.blogspot.com/2014/11/dried-basil-gift-set.html
On blooming where you're planted. Sunday, November 30, 2014. Dried Basil Gift Set. My herb garden overflowed with basil this summer. And somewhere in the middle of harvesting all those fragrant leaves, a savory little idea struck. I should dry all this basil, sew up some simple little muslin pouches, attach a pretty and tasty recipe, and sell these for Christmas. And so I did. The first product of the Potted Goose is now available to you. Contact me soon - only a limited quantity available. Bessy's Banki...
Potted Goose: Driving Trucks
http://pottedgoose.blogspot.com/2010/03/driving-trucks.html
On blooming where you're planted. Monday, March 1, 2010. Wrote this piece hoping for publication on a national, conservative women's blog site. I'll let you know how that goes.). Everyone – well, almost everyone – drives a truck. And not because it’s a matter of style; rather, it’s a matter of necessity. We haul hay bales and feed to the livestock. We pull trailers and implements. We haul fuel to the fields. Besides, how else would the high school football team get down. For the Homecoming parade? What I...
Potted Goose: February 2015
http://pottedgoose.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
On blooming where you're planted. Thursday, February 19, 2015. Grandma Taught Me How to Sew - Revised. Piece about 4 years ago. Upon Grandma’s passing yesterday, it was time for a revision…. My grandma taught me how to sew.nearly twenty-five years ago, in the July heat, in her non-air-conditioned farm house. She taught me how to read a pattern; how to lay out the pattern pieces properly on the fabric; to pay close attention to every detail on each pattern piece; to measure and pin and snip and stitch so ...
Potted Goose: The Perfect Oatmeal Cookie
http://pottedgoose.blogspot.com/2011/03/perfect-oatmeal-cookie.html
On blooming where you're planted. Tuesday, March 22, 2011. The Perfect Oatmeal Cookie. I have been in pursuit of making the perfect oatmeal cookie. I also gave up chocolate for Lent. Oatmeal cookies are a temporary substitute for sweet sanity when Tucker has pulled every t-shirt from his drawer for the fourth time in one day, Nell has experimented with crayon on the kitchen chairs, and Noah has turned my living room into a shelter for forty-two stuffed animals. Noah's a natural leader,". We talk at lengt...

Big N little n: The big # two b-day
http://bignlittlen.blogspot.com/2010/04/big-two-b-day.html
Monday, April 5, 2010. The big # two b-day. We also threw him a little backyard party with all of his friends. I think the kids had a great time running around and feasting on cupcakes. Thank goodness G-ma and G-pa were here to help out. Little n did great - barely notice he's around since he sleeps so much. I just love having a little(wonderfully easy) baby around again! Big N little n: May 2010
http://bignlittlen.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
Sunday, May 9, 2010. Monday was our first day at Disney. We started off at Magic Kingdom. Apparently a lot of other people had the same idea b/c it was packed! He liked being pulled/tugged and didn't mind wearing it since that meant he could walk instead of strapped in the stroller. The crew right after we walked into Magic Kingdom. A quick photo op, the first of many - one of the few with us all looking forward. Cinderella, I think. The kids with Mickey and Minnie. Nikolas thought Mickey was pretty cool.

Big N little n: Spring is here!
http://bignlittlen.blogspot.com/2009/04/spring-is-here.html
Thursday, April 16, 2009. It has finally warmed up here in Chicago, the grass is turning green, the daffodils and Hyacinth's are blooming and even the tree's are budding. Hooray! There are so many other funny things he can say - his speech has really improved even in two weeks' time. Here's a few to remember:. Pretty momma" as he pats my skirt. Choo, choo, cu-cakes, birfday" (We promised him we could ride the train to the Choo Choo restuarant again and eat a cupcake). More cu-cakes" The kid loves sugar.

Sunday, February 22, 2009. Fun with Papa and Grandma. Last weekend Papa and Grandma came up to visit and Nikolas had such a fun time entertaining them. The most fun part was a ride on the Metra train to the Choo Choo restaurant in Des Plaines. This was Nikolas' first time to ride the train and he was enthralled by it all. He kept saying "ride choo choo" the entire time. The conductor even punched his book a couple of times for his ticket. He fell asleep on the train ride back. Posted by Mom of many hats.
Big N little n: The big move
http://bignlittlen.blogspot.com/2010/05/big-move.html
Saturday, May 8, 2010. Summer with both boys was a little hectic. Nathan is the worlds best baby and sleeps a lot, but eats often - like every 1 - 2 hours so that doesn't leave me much time to do much else. Nikolas likes to run and will run away from me at the drop of the hat. That essentially equates us to a lot of "home" time. Nathan continues to go with the flow and is quite content sitting and playing. When he finally started to crawl at 11 months he finally realized there is so much to see and d...

Thursday, November 6, 2008. I think Nikolas had a lot of fun on Halloween. He certainly did like all of that candy. I was happy too since he wore his costume without a fuss : ) All in all, we had a very fun night! Plus Grandma and Grandpa F. were in town to enjoy it all too. We had a fun weekend spending time together. Final pose with neighborhood friends: Dylan, Conner, Ryan and Nikolas. Posted by Mom of many hats. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). POTTED HISTORY No. 6:. The Nutscene twine dolly. I'm a bit foggy as to what jute is, but it's apparently something the populace is pretty keen on, for Mr. Worple had made quite an indecently large stack of it." So spake Bertram Wilberforce Wooster in Carry On, Jeeves. And might well he wonder. Is very pleased to be part of this jute story, and are now carrying a variety of Nutscene. Products in the US shop. One of the biggest projects that I've been involved with this year, saw me returning to my roots as a craft/artist potter, but still with a strong history and heritage theme. This project explores the culture, heritage and landscape of the Holy Island of Lindisfarne just off the Northumberland coast. Pot This is what I call “Having a conversation with the original maker” I feel a real bond with my predecessors. In the form of a...
