A Personal Journey into the Ceramic Arts. Tuesday, March 20, 2012. Raku kiln, version 2.0. Bye, bye metal trash can, you've been replaced for a nicer, fancier model. Soft bricks rings to modulate the height according to pieces. Light top out of ceramic fiber for easy lifting, and a big flue to take small pieces through. And a huge space inside! 23" diameter, great for large platters. I took it out on a test drive last week. First ride was a saggar firing, baked potato style (see former post. San Diego, CA.

Back to main page: Lisa Yanni Pottery.com. Get Centered Clay Studio Fights For Its Art. LA MESA There was a time not really long ago in human history when we didn’t segregate the arts. Then the arts were an expression of identity everyone sang, everyone danced. Today we live in an era of specialization. We isolate the arts and honor only the best of the performers. And so that is why we find places like the Get Centered Clay Studio. Wedged into a non-descript industrial park in the center of La Mesa.

A Personal Journey into the Ceramic Arts. Thursday, February 28, 2013. A very nice Raku day! I finally got my act together and gathered all the pieces I have been hoarding for a raku firing. It was more than I thought, two kiln loads! It took me a day and half to glaze it all. Revive the glazes, make new batches, apply, carve through, clean. It had to be perfect, of course. Which is rather ironic, since Raku firing is all about accepting imperfections :). 65279;. Sunday, January 27, 2013. While my eye w...

Welcome to Pottery by Raelynne. I have always loved creating things. As a young child I would sit in my grandma’s pottery studio and play with scraps of clay as I watched her work at the wheel. Years later I asked her for a pottery lesson and I fell in love with clay. I sell my pottery at arts and craft sales throughout the year including Cathedral Arts Festival, Bazaart, Regina Folk Festival, Our Best to You, Holiday Bazaart and Wintergreen. Traditions Handcraft Gallery in Regina carries my pieces.

And since every piece is made individually, no two will ever be alike or like any other pot in the world.

Pottery by Sandy Der. By: Sandy Tags: porcelain. Ok, so I love to make kimchi, sauerkraut and pickles. I use wide mouth mason jars and half or full gallon jars. You need to weigh down the veggies to submerge them below the brine for proper fermentation but what to use? I didn’t have any small enough to fit the mouth… Rocks? Non porous, no need for glaze so no worries about heavy metals and easy to clean. I’m in. Here are some in action…they work great! Next batch will be with some brown stoneware.
