You are Welcome Here. Saturday we marched and rallied for immigrants and refugees. It was a beautiful warm and sunny day in Dallas as we made our way from City Hall to the JFK Memorial Plaza with a couple thousand like-minded folks. I worry about the people arriving in Dallas each week and I hope they do feel welcome here. Our small action last weekend was a statement and we hope it was heard. February 23, 2017. With the inauguration approaching, I am ready to lace up my activist shoes and get back to work. I have to admit to being a little bit complacent the last few years, a little tired of the fight, feeling a little older and isn’t it some other people’s turn? 8221; Those arrived recently so we broke them out and used them for playing, which definitely made things easier to handle. Thanks, Mom! They made it home in good time and Bonnie said the roads were fine, thankfully. Rich and I have had a VERY quiet and laid back day. I did a little bit of laundry, paid some bills, wrote some emails, picked up a few things, but didn’t even take a shower and have been mostly chillin’ out. I almost feel guilty! January 8, 2017.
