News & Events. The Soma Leo Foundation Golf Day. The Soma Leo Foundation Golf Day took place on the 1st July. Organised by Pound Gates Chartered Insurance Brokers and supported by Ellisons Solicitors, Larking Gowen Chartered Accountants and Big Yellow Self Storage. Thank you to all our players, sponsors and those who donated raffle prizes. Together we succeeded in raising 4,690, which will make a huge difference for the charity. Barking Mad to Miss it! News & Events. Classes start at Soma Leo Academy Nyiera. We opened one of our two classrooms in July. Although building fit-out work continues we have 30 of our intended 60 pupils now attending Soma Leo Nyiera Academy. The first classroom is for kindergarten / preschool aged children. They are mostly 3-5 years old. To visit to see the smiling faces the impact the school is already having on the children. Business and staff ‘do their bit’ for Suffolk. Forget Me Not Club. News & Events. Charitable events see an amazing response in support of Soma Leo. In June and July charitable events were held in support of The Soma Leo Foundation which together raised over 13,000. This will enable to charity to operate our school in Nyiera, educating and feeding 60 children for over a year. It will also help us in supporting other schools in the Nyiera area. Families in Need (FIND) is an Ipswich based charity providing emergency assistance to families and individuals who are caught in the poverty trap through economic circumstances, illness, homelessness etc and are going through a time of crisis. News & Events. Rising basketball star latest to be recognised by SportsAid. Rising basketball star Caleb Fuller has become the latest talented sportsperson from the county to be awarded a grant from Suffolk SportsAid. Fuller, who plays his club basketball for Ipswich Basketball Club, is already an England age group international having represented the country at under 15 level in 2014 and again this year at under 16 level. News & Events. Friends of the Ferns. This charity contributes to and enhances the service and support provided by the statutory sexual assault referral centre. In November 2014 we agreed a grant of 1,000 to meet the cost of furnishing a family room for those children that have been victims of rape or sexual assault. News & Events. Kenyan School Fund Bike Ride. At around lunchtime on Tuesday 28. October we completed our 6,510 miles challenge. We were delighted to have got there with 3 days to spare. For the last few days of the month staff continued to cycle to achieve personal targets and milestones. In all 75 staff completed at least 50 personal miles and by so doing secured a 50 donation from the company the average miles per person was actually 110. FIND reaching out to those in need.
