Powered by the Noor. Sunday, 1 February 2015. Today was the 4th session on Louis Armstrong this year and as with the previous one around 3 weeks ago, it was pretty much abject failure. To my utter amazement, the first left hand undercut was dry for the first time this year. This led to being able to climb through from the start to slapping the lip 5 times but with a core resembling a bowl of poorly set jelly, I was nowhere near to holding the move. Powered by the Noor. Thursday, 19 September 2013. Going backwards and Knowing when to train. Due to the weather sucking and having not climbed since my last session on Diesel Power, I decided to try another early session, this time at the cave. I got there for 9.15am and managed to climb until 12 before shooting back to work. I guess it's hard to find motivation sometimes when you feel like you are going backwards and forever plateaud but I'll keep plugging away at it and quit the whining for now. Managi...

Powered by the Noor. Thursday, 1 August 2013. After my last post there was a bit of banter about dodgy matching. So I went back the following Friday and did another first go of the session lap! Sadly the camera is being a chode at the moment and only records in a strange night vision green tinge. Hopefully the match time will be accepted by the cave elders. I had a quick solo session at the cave after my voluntary RSPCA work earlier in the day. After a decent warm up, I was keen to get back on Bonnie.

Powered by the Noor. Thursday, 9 October 2014. Post Summer Scaling Adventures. I've managed to get outside a couple of times in the last 2 weeks just before the turd weather arrived. Mills and Jack @ Chez Hudssion. A couple of weekends ago, Millso and 8c Jee were over in N Wales, so we got together and hit up Crafnant along with O and Alec. We were blessed with dry weather and grips, with the lightest of breezes making it bearable and friction-filled-fun! Some lanky ginge topping out Asswind. Next go, af...

Keeping you upto date with the crushings of a punter! Monday, 23 January 2012. Off again on another weekend with perfect grit weather! Get in, The plan was to go Baslow and hit up the easy routes to solo and then have a little session at Flat World and The Eagle Stone. Driving over it was freezing, first day this year i've had to scrape ice off the windscreen, conditions were set to be perfect. So that was a week ago. And i've decided to complete the post and update people with my injury and rehab. I was...

Keeping you upto date with the crushings of a punter! Thursday, 30 June 2011. So still nursing that dodgy finger! What a pain, all training indoors has been put on hold just been keeping up with the running anf cycling to work (averaging 16mph over 8 miles, not bad ey? Keeping you upto date with the crushings of a punter! Tuesday, 28 October 2014. Fontainehelm - Font in a ball bag. In February 2014 7 of us headed out to Font for a week to stay at The House. For Andy's stag do. We had such a laugh, pretty poor conditions as it was humid but we still climbed a few problems. I apologise for the poor selection of problems but for some reason these were the only clips i was left with. 3 x 8 sec straight arm 30 degree sloper (1.10 min rest between each). 3 x 8 sec straight a...

Keeping you upto date with the crushings of a punter! Monday, 12 September 2011. Lazy but also busy. I get so lazy filling this thing in sometimes. I think of something brilliant to write but then when it comes to it i can never be arsed. To sum things up though i've been climbing loads, found my psyche with a week long trip to Font booked for November and 10 days sport climbing in Spain in December i need to get strong and fit. Youngy's blog: Northumberland Joy

http://youngysblog.blogspot.com/2012/05/northumberland-joy.html

Keeping you upto date with the crushings of a punter! Saturday, 19 May 2012. After a cracking session at Longridge last week the psyche had returned to boulder. Finding myself with some time off me and Helen decided on a four day trip up to Northumberland, I'd always heard good reports about the place but just never found myself the time or the weather to get up there. This was to be the weekend though! Waking up Saturday to glorious sunshine and clear blue skies, psyched! Deffo one for the DFBWGC! All i...

Youngy's blog: Taking the chance

http://youngysblog.blogspot.com/2012/05/taking-chance.html

Keeping you upto date with the crushings of a punter! Monday, 7 May 2012. Having spent the majority of time indoors still and not really touching real rock i was keen to get back out and the forecast for the bank holiday weekend was good but there was me on another kayaking course! As suspected he said it's a bit greasy and thinks its only just dried out. A quick MTFU self talk and i find myself in the same situation but this time a slight alteration of the body and BOOM! Keeping you upto date with the crushings of a punter! Monday, 1 September 2014. On the blog again. So seems like reading my last post when I promised I would be posting more i must have been lying. What have a been doing? Well, turns out to be an awful lot. After the winter and getting to this level i knew that the focus would have to shift this year and more time spent in the hills on big mountain crags and sea cliffs getting some finalising routes in before i went for MIA training which i finally compl...

Keeping you upto date with the crushings of a punter! Wednesday, 19 October 2011. Lakes, Lakes, Lakes. I had never done much climbing in the Lake District up until lately. Last weekend I went on a bit of a social visit so didn't think i would get much climbing done but managed to get out both days and get some ticking done. The morning was taken up by visiting my cousin Craig and his wife Liz, the plan was to go to the school where he works and to help him on a few things with his new climbing wall.

Pass the Pasta Pastor: If at first...

http://passthepastapastor.blogspot.com/2012/12/if-at-first.html

Pass the Pasta Pastor. Very much and very little. Thursday, 13 December 2012. A fortnight ago, I made the decision to go on a diet. It is at once the best and worst decision I have ever made. I don't carry reams of fat yet there does seem to be something making me heavier than I ought to be. Come on man admit it, it's FAT! Compare and contrast to this:. If a line inspires you it doesn't matter how long it takes". The former quotation stems from North Wales trad stalwart George Smith. I always enjoy h...
