The Open Forum: Why I Wrote a Children's Book
http://hugecowpatty.blogspot.com/2012/04/why-i-wrote-childrens-book.html
Why I Wrote a Children's Book. Kyra has agreed to do the illustrations and has been busy working on it for the better part of week now. I've seen a little of it and it looks fantastic. I've also finally decided on a tentative title. I know that doesn't sound like a decision, but it's more than what I had before, which was nothing. I told my wife a few months ago that I wanted to make money giving other people's money away. What that looked like, I had no idea. I just knew it was what I was called...Which...

The Open Forum: A Study on Baptism: Part Deux - 2
http://hugecowpatty.blogspot.com/2012/09/a-study-on-baptism-part-duex-2.html
A Study on Baptism: Part Deux - 2. Nerd points for whoever read that title and thought of the ridiculousness of SqaureEnix's naming convention for recent Final Fantasy entries. Anyway, I'm going to say something here that is going to be incredibly unpopular but it needs to be said. Baptism by dunking is in no way Biblically supported. I'll let you gather the pieces of your exploded brain and calm yourself down by playing a few levels of Super Mario 3D Land. Let me know when you're ready to continue.

The Open Forum: Yes, Abortion Does Affect You
http://hugecowpatty.blogspot.com/2013/03/yes-abortion-does-affect-you.html
Yes, Abortion Does Affect You. I can't. I won't. I want to tell you why. And, until the Japanese decided it would be a good idea to mess with us, we let it happen! We watched over here, an entire ocean away from it, and watched as Nazi Germany rounded up "lesser" people and killed them! In front of their children! In front of their neighbors! And we watched it happen all because it wasn't our problem, and all because just because we believe something is wrong, doesn't make it wrong for everyone. I plan t...

The Open Forum: Christian Conservativism: how these two worldviews can co-exist and not contradict
http://hugecowpatty.blogspot.com/2011/01/christian-conservativism-how-these-two.html
Christian Conservativism: how these two worldviews can co-exist and not contradict. This is the first in what I plan to be a series of posts that deal with a variety issues concerning the conservative movement in America and how a Christian lifestyle and a conservative worldview can co-exist. In this post, I aim to lay out the foundation for the rest of the series. It is important for your understanding of this series that you start with this post. Freedom, as I see it, means having the ability to do wha...

The Open Forum: An Unexpected Life Changing Event
http://hugecowpatty.blogspot.com/2012/03/unexpected-life-changing-event.html
An Unexpected Life Changing Event. Before I came into work today, I went and stood in front of Planned Parenthood in Memphis and prayed. I had absolutely no idea what to expect. I've see Pro-Life (Anti-Abortion, for those who want to argue the details) "protests" before but I had never participated in one. I did this as part of 40 Days For Life. Instead, I just stood there, looking out into the sea of traffic passing us by on Poplar Avenue, dumbfounded. But, she wasn't finished. I want to encourage all o...

The Open Forum: Three Things That Make Me More Free Than You
http://hugecowpatty.blogspot.com/2012/04/three-things-that-make-me-more-free.html
Three Things That Make Me More Free Than You. I've learned that there are three things one needs in order to experience total freedom in this life. I'd like to share them with you. The first thing is Jesus. The next two things are far less obvious to most people, especially Christians, and are the two things I want to focus on here. I'll continue with realizing you are no better than the worst person to ever grace Earth with his presence. Did he just compare me to Hitler? Homosexuality is a sin. I just o...

The Open Forum: A Study on Baptism
http://hugecowpatty.blogspot.com/2012/08/a-study-on-baptism.html
A Study on Baptism. In fact, my church leadership wasn't even aware that I had not been baptized as an adult Christian until I made them aware of it, yet none of them had once questioned my salvation. I don't suddenly become permanently drenched as a sign that I am set apart for Christ. There is no scripture supporting this idea that baptism is a sign of my salvation. This makes as much sense to me as printing "t-shirt" on my t-shirt as a sign to others that it is, indeed, a t-shirt. Jesus does not comma...

The Open Forum: Changes
http://hugecowpatty.blogspot.com/2012/04/changes.html
For now, I'll continue to post here exclusively, but that may change. Until then, let me fill you in. Two things that have been on my heart lately are abortion and pansy Christians. I've talked about both of these things in two separate posts earlier on here. I want to address them together here and discuss how they fit together. April 4, 2012 at 1:32 AM. The Open Forum: Fanboies and Fruits
http://hugecowpatty.blogspot.com/2010/12/fanboies-and-fruits.html
Then there's Adobe. I'm no Adobe fanboy. If there were an alternative to Photoshop that was better or less expensive, I'd switch. When the web finally makes the big switch to HTML5 and moves away from Flash, I'll be right there with it. I just want the job done. Right now, the job is being done quite adequately by Adobe's Flash. I tend to lean toward the idea that Mac users are incapable of thinking for themselves. I could be wrong. That's why the Forum is open, people. December 28, 2010 at 7:29 PM.

The Open Forum: Jesus said "When you sin, look around you and find someone to blame for it."
http://hugecowpatty.blogspot.com/2012/05/jesus-said-when-you-sin-look-around-you.html
Jesus said "When you sin, look around you and find someone to blame for it.". You're absolutely right, Jesus never said that. I've never met a Christian who would ever make such a claim. I have, however, met many Christians, both man and woman, who almost certainly believe this. Why you ask? Oh, you're done already? Sorry I was just um. winning. at life. So, what did Jesus mean, exactly? Look at this in it's context, both within context of the surrounding text and the context of the Bible as a whole.
