A Living Room Mantle Renovation | The Polished Pebble
http://ppebble.blogspot.com/2015/07/a-living-room-mantle-renovation.html
A Living Room Mantle Renovation. A Living Room Mantle Renovation. Most the original details in this 1925 Spanish home still reside but there are some recent interior additions that just don't really work. The fireplace has been reimagined (I'm being nice) using stacked ledger stone with the TV. Front and center.ugh! So off came the TV and we were able to see the old plaster work. And the original outlets for sconces. The wiring was hot and actually buried behind the stone. It would have worked! Before we...
FAQ
http://ppebble.blogspot.com/p/faq.html
Questions asked but never answered. All off the stories, ideas and design projects on The Polished Pebble come from my day to day life. I sometimes find the best blog posts are about little things, like making your own granola or turning your yard waste into wonderful compost. Often readers tell me what they like too. If you have an idea, photos, a house project or a great story to share, I'm all ears! Most importantly. I try to keep it real. Effective April, 1, 2013. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). The Kitc...

http://ppebble.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Archive for November 2014. You may have noticed that my blog posts have been a bit sporadic. We have been busy with fall projects, work. And of course the usual hours of weekly garden chores. Life in the fall is usually a slower simple rhythm. The days grow shorter. The sun dips lower and thankfully the temperature has fallen a bit. That crazy little devil. Knocked on my door. And I knewI was really in for it. Now let me say this.we have thought about selling a few times before. Time, energy and enjoyment.
They're back...those little red guys | The Polished Pebble
http://ppebble.blogspot.com/2015/07/theyre-backthose-little-red-guys.html
They're back.those little red guys. They're back.those little red guys. This post title reads (oddly) those little red guys are back. Like I was having a serious break out or perhaps a case of poison ivy. But fear not.in reality I finally have tomato plants in my yard (again). Whewtomato panic over : ). Not sure what it is, but a kitchen garden just isn't complete without these little red guys. The lowly and much maligned tomato plant. The tomato plant can either be your crowning glory or the agony.
Dining Al Fresco | The Polished Pebble
http://ppebble.blogspot.com/2015/05/dining-al-fresco.html
Where did Spring go? Are you a lover of dining outside? I sure am and we try do do it as much as the weather will permit. Simple tables are beautiful in the garden and does the food taste better outside? I have saved a boat load of images from magazines over the years. And love to pull them out for inspiration. Now that we all use Pinterest we can save our favorites digitally. And look at them everyday if we need to. I'm not sure which magazines I pulled these from. And a dining table are timeless. I can...

Happenings at the Harriman House: December 2013
http://harrimanhouse.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
Happenings at the Harriman House. Keeping up with Charlie and Hollie. Monday, December 16, 2013. Hudson as big brother! This pregnancy has been VERY different than my first! It all started with a bleeding scare when I was 11 weeks along. I found out I had a hematoma and was told to take it very easy. When I was pregnant with Hudson I was more active. I'm not gonna lie, I've enjoyed not killing myself working out. I have the rest of my life for that! Maggie and I enjoy our afternoon naps with big brother!

Inspired meals created with ingredients on hand (most of the time). I think fresh dill is one of the most under-used, under-appreciated herbs. So every chance I get to use it, I do. And not just for pickles. This time I decided to use it in a quiche! My favorite way to use up stuff anyway is to pair it with eggs. Made everything extra light and fluffy! A little grated parmesan cheese on top never hurt anything! Sliced paper thin red onions. Adding fresh dill to the quiche mix. Pour it on top. 8221; lefto...

Inspired meals created with ingredients on hand (most of the time). Newer posts →. Andy’s Dinner Remix. I have already professed my love for sauerkraut and the original “Andy’s Kraut dinner” here. But recently I made a variation on this classic and of course everything is better with bacon. I think this would have been good with some kind of green vegetable but I couldn’t figure out which one so I added a brown veggie instead. 1 176 oz =/- sauerkraut (bag or jar is better than canned) drained. This lates...

The most beautiful dining room in New Hampshire. If not… well that’s okay too, but you can see it here. While reviewing my “potluck” cookbook for an upcoming event I stumbled across the perfect use for those leftover bagels. A “French toast casserole! Inspired meals created with ingredients on hand (most of the time). Corn and tomatoes are one of my favorite parings and I have written about them before…. here. This time I paired them in a quiche. Easy and summer-y this quiche tastes like a fancy brunch dish and is so light that you feel almost like you are eating healthy! Never mind the eggs, cream and cheese in the mix! 8221;) of ingredients. The moist goat cheese added a bit of luscious-ness to it.The quiche is rich but not heavy. S and p to taste.

Not immediately noticed in the debris was one of two throw pillows I had just made for the new armchairs! No applause for that prank. I was definitely not amused. An Uncluttered Life: Thankful Thursday
http://cayce-saunders.blogspot.com/2010/12/thankful-thursday.html
We only get one chance at making a difference in this world. let's compare notes! Thursday, December 30, 2010. There is always so much to be thankful for. I wish I focused more on those things during the week than all the problems or concerns that I am facing. One way that a thankful heart arises within me every time is listening to my Christian radio station in the car. I have now found Pandora at home! If you don't know about this- check.it.out! Listen To The Land. A New Kitchen For An Old House In Santa Barbara. This is an old house. She's 92 to be exact. What's that saying about not teaching an old dog new tricks? An old house is not going to budge when it come to certain things, especially at 92. I can't change the footprint because of set backs and the usual rules governing a historic house. And I can't mess around much with windows or doors and why would I? Enlarge the spaces visually. She wanted to see if she could find this house again.
