Monday, March 06, 2006. It was really heartening to see the improvement in the student - it felt like we were on the right track with CASW! As for the child - I'm sure that it's only a matter of time till he makes a thorough recovery - playing an instrument is not only an emotional comfort, but has obviously helped him to recover his motor skills as well as adjust better socially. Thursday, February 02, 2006. We, the elementary school group of CASW had our first session yesterday. (What a relief to finally be underway with our assignment and to get a taste of an actual CASW meeting! Mr Gulab Jain was the presenter. The student work that he presented from std. 5 was of an extremely good quality. We are in school on this Saturday, learning about web tools and we just learnt how to create a blog for ourselves. Yesterday, we did not go into our classes; we were in the program the whole day and we discussed 'context and content' in our classroom practices. It was a rather interesting day. Tuesday, February 07, 2006. On Monday, 6th Feb, we had our second CASW meeting. Mr. Udayraj was the presenter this time. This meeting was quite different from the previous one. The focus this time was an individual child, recovering from a near-fatal accident and slowly struggling back to physical, emotional, academic and social 'normalcy'. He seems to prefer group learning for tabla, rather than individual, one on one classes. This is a quality special to this school. Posted by gudrun @ 8:46 PM.

The lesson was a grand success as the children constantly interacted with their partners and discussed the answers before putting them down on the screen. Saturday, July 30, 2005. I am co-teaching with Jhumki in Standard2. The last month we were doing 'weather' as a topic for our 7 year olds. Since we wanted them to have an experience of 'doing' science we were thinking of the best possible way to have them experience what 'wind' does.
