The major points are:. You don't need a doctor's note to claim exemption - it is a simple self certification. You wouldn't be buying these items of equipment unless you needed them, so clearly you have a qualifying condition. Even if you don't qualify for exemption, there is reduced VAT for the over 60s, currently 5%.
