Pragmatically Charged: April 2009

Thursday, April 2, 2009. The Bible In A Beaker. I attended a lecture at Pitt yesterday, where Bob Enick (who wrote the book Evolving in Eden. Spoke about the compatibility of science's claim of The Theory of Evolution and a creationism viewpoint. Overall it was a decent lecture. I learned a bit, but had heard a lot of the material before. I may skim through the free copy of Evolving in Eden. Then, this morning while browsing through Facebook. It sounded interesting so I looked up some info. God placed a ...

Friday, March 6, 2009. Just A Gun Lovin' Gal. I don't quite get the current fascination with guns, or for that matter, the predominantly Republican obsession with them. Should owning a gun be legal? Sure, I think so. But why would you really want one, other than for hunting? Buying a gun for protection is something understandable (although I might take a different position personally), but can't the line quickly get blurred between what is protection and what is aggressive (called necessity)? And of all ...

Friday, June 20, 2008. When You Take The Time. The call to "give to anyone who asks of you" stirred my heart and I pulled a $5 bill out of my wallet. Posted by Stephen P. Why Do English People Stammer So Much? NT Wright was on The Colbert Report last night. As most guests, he didn't get to say a ton, but it's still kind of neat. Posted by Stephen P. Wednesday, June 18, 2008. Letter To A Son. I've mentioned this author, Matthew Paul Turner. He is now a father to be and wrote a letter. To his son expressin...

Friday, February 29, 2008. I just finished listening to a sermon from Mars Hill. Given by Kent Dobson. If you have been reading and find you are anything like me, or interested in what I say, I'd encourage you to listen to this. The sermon was based mostly n Philippians 1. I have trouble coming to grasps with Paul saying that it doesn't matter what manner (whether selfish or selfless) you present the Gospel, as long as you preach it. Paul says that anything done without love is like a resounding gong.

Saturday, February 7, 2009. Last weekend was YFC's Student Leader Retreat. It was a weekend that was on course to be the usual great time of bonding and learning. and indeed the retreat was all of those things, but it certainly was not typical. Saturday afternoon three of the girls went out for a hike through the woods. Several other students and staff had taken the same excursion, following the paths down to the creek. But due to some confusion, the girls took a wrong path. Our search team was equipped ...

Steve's Daily Account: July 2009
http://stevesdailyaccount.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
An exciting, mundane trip through the day to day musings of Steve. Monday, July 27, 2009. I've been working a ton lately, trying to get all my projects finished and duplicated for various clients. It was so bad that I typically would go to bed at 12 or 1AM and have to wake up at 4 to continue working for the next 18 hours. I was really starting to lose it. A nostalgic remembrance from my childhood. Not really) Shooting ended at about 6AM, when the sun was coming up. Now this is a paid gig. I think it...

An exciting, mundane trip through the day to day musings of Steve. Saturday, September 19, 2009. These guys are pretty amazing. The name of the group is Naturally7. I forget how I came across them, but if you appreciate music, and the art of a cappella singing (or just R&B) "you gonna like it! This band does all their own instrumentation sounds, which until you see them, you probably wouldn't believe they aren't real instruments. Rockapella. Eat your heart out! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

An exciting, mundane trip through the day to day musings of Steve. Thursday, May 13, 2010. Don't) Stop This Train. Typically I would return with a triumphal reentry stating all of my recent conquests of life, and there are some, but I probably won't do too much of that now. I do feel like this will be a post that many (if many or any ever read this) will greatly relate to. Which I believe is the elixir my mouth is dry for. Blessed are the pure. Of heart, for they will see. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

He asks what the hardest thing for me to clean is. I don't know. This whole situation reminds me of Deb in Napoleon Dynamite trying to sell glamour shots and beaded bracelets. He asks, as he points to my roommate's car. I almost want to say yes and see if he's going to draw on the car with his Sharpie. I say no. It's fun to meet new people! Sometimes you ne...

Reese was the lead singer of the former band Five Iron Frenzy. Some of you reading this may be familiar with FIF and reminisce with a smile on your face of the joy they brought to your life; whether skanking with some friends, car-ride sing-alongs, awesome concerts, or just trying to recreate the blue comb.

An exciting, mundane trip through the day to day musings of Steve. Tuesday, July 7, 2009. It's Been A While. And It'll Be A While. I haven't blogged in quite some time. I tried on a few occasions, but then would get distracted and such. I was so glad that two of my students attended and both had an awesome, awesome time! Speaking of Campus Life meetings Monday nights, I had CL last night. We spoke about shaving things out of your life that it's time to leave behind; whether they are childish. In the yout...

An exciting, mundane trip through the day to day musings of Steve. Sunday, November 30, 2008. When Life Gets Heavy. What little job could I pick up? Does anybody owe me any money? It always seemed to end in me rolling the coins from my piggy bank. The hidden question in my mind was, do I use this sense of righteous duty to the greater way as a cop out for being unsuccessful? Everyone did and does get on my case about finding a job. "Do you have a job yet? Should I be able to live both sides adequately?

Pragmatically Charged
Tuesday, September 1, 2009. Life from the Center is a life of unhurried peace and power. It is simple. It is serene. It is amazing. It is triumphant. It is radiant. It takes no time, but it occupies all our time. And makes our life programs new and overcoming. I'm reading a really great book right now called " Freedom of Simplicity. By Richard Foster. I am being challenged in the way I live, think, and understand simplicity. One of the parts of the book I read recently spoke of Frank Laubach's. Try the c...

February 13, 2012 · 7:11 pm. Whoever came up with this idea is made of genius: A pizza crust made of ground beef. This pizza is low-carb, grain free, nut free, high in protein, and delicious. Ingredients for the beef crust:. 1 pound ground beef (or your favourite ground meat). 1/4 cup parmesan cheese (optional). 1 small finely chopped onion (I used white onion, but next time I think I would use green onions instead). 1 tablespoon dried parsley. 1 teaspoon garlic powder. 1 teaspoon onion salt. Prácticas de pragmática | Just another WordPress.com site
Just another WordPress.com site. Mayo 25, 2012.
